Matter support provided by a firmware update.

For those not familiar, Matter provides cross platform support, meaning that devices can be used within a HomeKit home, SmartThings home Google Nest Home or Alexa home.

You can already buy smart locks, but I would swerve them at the moment. I fully expect they’ll be very good in a few years, but at the moment, they’re either slow with poor connectivity to smart home routers or easily picked.

Can someone direct me to some decent brands that also do smart door contacts? I generally only buy bigger brands especially as I'm paranoid that the smart devices need my WiFi password. Thanks
