I know. I posted the last one too ;0)

Edit the title to say its not the smaller one recently posted. Hags me off when people vote cold because they "think" before reading the description!!

They are price matching John Lewis as they currently have 20% off certain Playmobil at the minute

Didn't post this as a deal as stock was very limited but if anyone is passing wh smith they may want to have a look out for a pirate dinghy model number 4444 for £3.

My parents bought expensive sets like this for me as a kid. I was extremely happy and grateful to receive and play with them, however they got neglected and put away to gather dust after a short while.

I guess I was kind of spoilt during Christmas and my birthdays - then again it wasn't really my fault, but my parent's generosity.

If time travel was possible I would go back and persuade them not to buy the dang overpriced plastic, for all that came of any of it in the end was either being given to charity shops or taken to the dump.

I believe it would make more sense to buy something less costly and perhaps not in a set, because the components usually get lost or damaged easily.

I know that this issue may not be in mind; it's just what I've experienced and generally what I see as a no-brainer.

Consume....you've just described what 99% of kids do, is just life. If I took your advice my kids would be getting bread and cheese for Xmas. Haha

Great deal, ordered for my spoiled 5 year old

Playmobile are great sets and are most definatly Not cheap plastic, my son has a great imagination (his now 7) and has played with his playmobile for years, each year we add sets to it, and I'm happy to spend the money for more as he loves it!! We got him this ship last year and it's great, so much time goes into making these, they are also timeless , and don't age, we also still have sets from my other son who's now 12 and they still sell the same sets in the shop, Andddddd they also hold their value

Ps hot hot deal

Does it really seem that I would be that cruel? What I tried to say before is that the alternative situation to buying an expensive item is something cheaper that can also be enjoyed on the same level. Of course looking for something that is fantastic and cheap at the same time is very hard, as the world is not made of cheap; this site makes that easier though.

Yes, it's a shame that most kids do this... and it is, too, a shame that most parents cannot do what I would do.

It's OK though. I won't stress out if I don't encourage any of you not to buy this product. (:

tbh playmobil is expensive for a reason - its high quality and should last.
if given to charity shop etc then others can get use out of it - if you get the cheap stuff that falls apart then noone really benefits

chill, I am just having a laugh. I take your point, but I just think kids do what kids do.........

In the bigger picture, I strongly disagree to your assertion 'it is a shame most parents cannot do what I would do'.

When my children finish with the expensive toys that I buy them, they will take them to the NSPCC to give to less fortunate children. More expensive toys will generally last better because they are usually higher quality, which means they have a higher probability of ending up at the NSPCC.....I am passing on the same life lesson, that my parents passed to me. Personally I think it is an important one............

That is how I manage my life, and is the moral lesson decide to pass on to my 2 children. I don't judge it better or worse than anyone else's.....

Happy xmas!

Thanks!
