You should check out the body building forums where they all hangout. It's a real sausage fest over there.

You'd be no good on catchphrase.

Good price for someone to try out but these CHEAP home gyms are pointless. They are smaller than the usual size which is kinda the appeal to someone with a small room but its size is its downfall. You will feel restricted in your movement and the weight limit is just that, its limited and you will need more.

Push ups, pull/Chin ups will give you more than these machines.

Better off buying a TRX (equivalent) - a Kettlebell and/or some dumbells for that money in my opinion. I haven't got room for anything in my place, but nothing wrong with this or my option for beginners or a quick blast in the garage! As long as you're doing something, well done, and keep it up!

To save time and hassle, upon receiving the Everlast EV500 home gym, simply place it in the back of your garage whilst still in the box and its original packaging. This will save you valuable storage space and keep it in good condition when you inevitably sell it unused on ebay for 30 quid in four years time after being made redundant and being forced to move to a bedsit in Romford.

Haha! Was going to say similar... Was benching 75kg when I was in year 10 (god knows what age that is).

Not anymore though... I'm a skinny wretch

Banned

Not bad

Well I could bench 555kg when I was 4 years old! Hey, let's all get our cocks out and measure each others? Show that we're real men!

this is pointless will max out in a week if your new to lifting

Insert:[Some witty comment about how pathetic and lightweight this is, to make myself look stronger]

Why do people think their bench press is the deciding factor in how strong a person is? Surely deadlifts or squats are a better measurement.

Useless at 50kg - can you buy extra weights??

This is perfect for having nice Muscles without looking like a Juice head!

Ignore those who say it won't do anything for muscles etc, ive got the same gym and chicks always ask me if i go the gym, which i dont.

So it aint all that bad if you use it properly and have the correct diet.

Pointless. Squat cage over this any day. I didn't have space for a cage so got a decent (imo) rack for £130 from Decathlon.

Heat added!

hahahaha cheap gym equipment this is freezing cold

Oh bore off you weirdo, nobody wants to know.

Looks like a reasonable bit of kit. Just be warned, 50kg isn't much, it wont take long before even a gym-virgin will want more and then you've got a rather expensive clothes line on your hands. You may simply be better doing pressups or even get some small free weights and either do a fly or press laid on the floor (you technically only need one dumbbell)

Laying on the floor, and raising the weights above your chest

Good price but if people actually use these and don't leave them gathering dust in the garage they will then outgrow these rather quickly and it will end up...well gathering dust in the garage. Save your money and do some bodyweight exercises or make a little piggy bank for a proper squat/power rack.

maybe the wife can try it? who says gyms are for men!!!

I can't tell how this particular one works, but in some cases 50kg of plates doesn't equal 50kg of resistance, based on how the various pulleys are set up.

The video gives some clues, the lat pull down looks to be a 1:1, but the front press seems to have more body movement than weight movement (therefore reducing the effective resistance).

Personally I'd agree with the bodyweight exercises, definitely the cheapest form of exercise I've ever done.

saying out of stock when i get to check out

Its a 1 rep max weight. I think people aren't taking the proverbial out of the weight, its more about the person trying to brag what they can do.
