Laptop being weird lol, Meant to say woolworths entertainment:oops:

Cold......one of the best songs ever made and its been ruined

donation from each sale is ONE POUND -wheres the rest going?

better to donate 4 quid to the appeal direct methinks

Every penny is donated from the digital version and it's available today at all the major digital retailers. Pretty sure REM will donate any money they make out of people buying the original also.

Not sure that a charity project should be about 'deals' people can get.

Agreed, if you want the song donate £4 then download the track from 'another' place.

*edit* Ignore me, just buy the official download for 100% donation

Agree with everyone. They are overcharging for this not very good and cringey version of one of the best songs ever which would be ok if all the money was going to Haiti but £1 is way too little. Had to turn off the radio yesterday when it came on:-(

Good cause, but it's torture to listen to this.

I'm amazed REM let it be used.

Here's a good idea why dont all the people below -

Donate a small percentage of their (rather huge) annual earnings to the appeal instead of making a naff single?
The money that John Terry spent in the last week on lawyers would have paid for a fair bit of food.

As a reasonably well paid professional man in the street I'm getting a little fed up being ask to contribute to a different cause every month.

Did anyone actually see this bit;

From the £3.97 you have to deduct all sorts of costs. The people who sell it are not waiving their wages nor are the lorry drivers who transport it. Get it into perspective. Then there are the music publishers, are they waiving their cut? I doubt it. Printers, CD manufacturers, heating, lighting, rent and rates on the commercial premises. It all adds up. £1 is very optimistic! I reckon it will be a lot less.

Proceeds = proceeds after costs. i.e. net proceeds.

Wow this is hot LMAO
