Our story begins at the end of the world.

The time is 6:37am on Wednesday, 6 June, 1984. Five days, four hours and 30 minutes since the Primary Event.

Nestled away in the idyllic English countryside, the village of Yaughton, Shropshire, stands empty.

Children’s toys lie forgotten in the playground the wind blows quarantine leaflets around the silent churchyard. Strange voices haunt the airwaves as uncollected washing hangs listlessly on the line.

You remain behind in this deserted world, slowly piecing together the mystery of the apocalypse through the memory fragments of those who lost their lives.

Created by The Chinese Room in the non-linear narrative style of their award-winning adventure, Dear Esther, your choices and discoveries will define your adventure.

I utterly love this game. I've played through it numerous times finding different paths and areas I had missed before. It's one of those games that really stuck with me and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about it. Jessica Curry's soundtrack is beautiful. I agree it's not for everyone - I have a feeling most FPS players just won't get on with it at all. But the story and voice acting is wonderful. It's really worth a go at this price!
I get that its not for everybody but I loved it. The most atmospheric, immersive game I think Ive ever experienced. As a lifelong horror fan I found the whole thing terrifying too.

Same here. I was captivated by the story and the individual threads made up from all of the different characters.
This is one rapture you don't want to go to. Trust me. Quite possibly the most boring game I've ever played in my life.

I have it for the PC and it looks fantastic but what is there to do besides walk around and admire the view ?

Save 4 quid and go for a walk in the country instead.

You follow a rough path around the village and as you do so stories are revealed about the people in it. It's similar to Gone Home in that sense.

I enjoy walking simulators, but this one bored me. I’d recommend looking into before making the purchase.

Yes. That’s about it though thanks.
I really enjoyed it but I get it's not for everyone

As a big fan of Dead Esther I bought this on launch for PS4 but am yet to play it the comments here are making me feel like I need to get to it ASAP!

Is this a bioshock game?
This is a methodical , kind of detective game where you see scenes from dead people's lives and piece together what happened. It's all a bit surreal but totally unique.
This is a rather lovely little game, but I had to uninstall it in sheer frustration as the save points (or lack of them) made playing almost impossible.

No, it's a sequel to Everybody's Golf ... although quite a surprising departure in gameplay, tone and theme to its predecessor, which puts a lot of people off.
One of my favourite games, I loved it. If your a COD or Fifa fan move on, this is not for you. If you like story driven, atmospheric games. Enjoy.
Loved this game it's nice and relaxing to play. Also don't forget you can walk faster by holding i think R2?
Dam does this game have the slowest walk in history.
Loved it, very atmospheric.
Way, WAY too slow, even for a walking simulator. Any enjoyment to be had is replaced by utter rage at the literal snail’s pace you move at. Infuriating

Nothing.
If only you could use a bicycle to speed it up a little...
Heat just because it’s one of my favourite games and everyone should try it. Picture a cross between The Archers and Quatermass and you’ll be on the right track.

Yup..there is a button combo to sprint though. I think it's r2 and you have to hold it down for a second or two.

The game has a story with characters and stuff, and an ending. It’s a bit like a sci-fi version of the archers. You’ve got to look for all the plot threads though ... follow the ball of light and explore.
Incredible atmospheric and moving, if you can get into it.
It is very slow paced though, and I wish that they'd patched in a proper run speed.
The slow walking was annoying but the story kept me going until the end. Quite moving and the voice acting was great. This isn't a game but more of an interactive story.
One of the "nicest" games I've ever played. Probably the least eventful walking simulator made (even moreso than Dear Esther) but I really enjoyed it.

Walking speed is the worst thing about it, but I found the eerily empty world and the notion of what happened to everyone so intriguing that I think it's absolutely worth it.

Not for those with a short attention span

I'm the same. I've played quite a few walking sims, but this just seemed to drag and I know it's a WALKING sim but not being able to sprint when the game is this big really annoyed me.
Everybody's gone to sleep of boredom.

Seriously though imo this "game" just feels like a level viewer with voice tacked on top saying a story. Better off just watching this on YouTube save yourself the 4 quid to another game

You can sprint.
I'll tell you right now not everybody went because I didn't!
I tried this with an open mind but it’s like reading a very slow book. If you want a walking simulator, try Firewatch or What Remains Of Edith Finch- this is utterly dull IMO.
Fron title of game, is this a bible story?

I agree. Mind numbing
It's ok. Worth a look.
But it's not really a deal. £3.99 is just about what is worth.
Sounds like my kind of game, any good pc prices?
