Walking sim, looks interesting -

The world ended 37 minutes ago
It is time to begin

Yaughton, Shropshire. 06:37am 6th June 1984.

Deep within the Shropshire countryside, the village of Yaughton stands empty. Toys lie forgotten in the playground, the wind blows quarantine leaflets around the silent churchyard. Down on Appleton’s farm, crops rustle untended. The birds lie where they have fallen.

Strange voices haunt the radio waves as uncollected washing hangs listlessly on the line. The televisions are tuned to vacant channels. Above it all, the telescopes of the Observatory point out at dead stars and endless darkness. And someone remains behind, to try and unravel the mystery.
Immerse yourself in a rich, deep adventure from award-winning developer The Chinese Room and investigate the last days of Yaughton Valley. Uncover the traces of the vanished community; discover fragments of events and memories to piece together the mystery of the apocalypse.

Featuring a beautiful, detailed open-world and a haunting soundtrack, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is non-linear storytelling at its best.

Looks nice ...

Great soundtrack

Its not a bad game but the soundtrack is awesome.

Ive been debating this for a while now, Previous walking sims ' The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter' 'Dear Esther ' 'Firewatch' 'The Graveyard' 'The Stanley Parable' and some story games like ' To The Moon' which i enjoyed.

Played this game over a year ago. It still resonates with me. Such a chilling and yet simultaneously comforting and familiar setting. I would buy and play again at full price to experience it fresh again. Bargain at this price.

Such a strange and captivating game still feel strange thinking about it. And I’m still not sure if I liked it or not.

'Firewatch'

Some of the dialogue between the protagonist and the woman on the radio was pretty good, but the game had the most unsatisfying ending ever!!

Love this game... Heat!

The look and sound of it are completely captivating - the gameplay isn't exactly thrilling but take it for what it is (an interactive story) and it's a beautiful experience you won't forget.

Such a shame they didn't do a Pro update for this on the PS4 - the PC version embarasses it!

It's a new class of game - "walking the shaggy dog sim"
I know I'm in the minority but I really didn't like Firewatch - it was really slow to start, the characters were uninteresting and after it finally built to something quite intriguing, it dropped you like a greasy turd

I loved Firewatch, some of the best story telling I've come across in a game along with some great voice acting. Might give this a try.

I really liked this game. Just wish, wish, wish it had a run/jog function. Backtracking in slow motion (walking) sucks.

I played it on the PC 1st (I'm normally a console gamer) and the difference was very noticeable when I played on the PS4.
Still a great experience but a bit disappointing to have already seen it looking much better

There is a run/ fast walk option

it's like looking at 4k video, looking back at blue ray, looking at blue ray, looking back at dvd and thinking how can i see this blurry pic

Calling it a run is a bit of a stretch, it's still a snail's pace.

Fast walk didn't seem that much faster when I played it at launch.

It was so slow that it deterred me from exploring more.

Not my game but a decent price.

I've been waiting for this for ages! If you like The Stanley Parable and have an interest in philosophy, art or deconstruction theory then 'The Beginner's Guide' is a really interesting 'game' about the creative process.

Looks great but how is this a game ?

I loved TSB - I really pushed that game to find every phrase they'd recorded to tell me I was doing something wrong... and I think there's still loads I missed!

It's an interactive story.
If you're cool with that, it's brilliant.
If not, look elsewhere.

Now this is one of those games that would work really well in vr although wouldn’t necessarily call it a game more like an experience which I actually enjoyed very much.

Probably better to say that its a SLOW interactive story where things move at a glacial pace with alot of walking about.

Wolf Among Us for example, would also be interactive story but at least that zips along at an engaging pace.

I thought this was excellent. Something different, and really enjoyed it.
At this price it's a bargain in my opinion. Hot

I found that the pace fitted with the story, scenery and soundtrack - it allowed the last bit of story to sink in while you found the next bit.
I got a little frustrated a couple of times when I missed the next story cue and found myself wandering about aimlessly (perhaps they should make the next cue a bit more obvious sometimes)... and the speed of movement did make that worse.

It's not for the impatient and it massively helps to know what you're "playing" before you start but the story, atmosphere and music brought a tear to my eye a few times I can't say that about many movies, never mind "games".
TBH, you could just watch a (competent) play-through on YouTube but that would rob you of the feeling of discovery and rob The Chinese Room of some much-deserved pennies.

THE best walking sim i have played.. well worth it at thsi price!! the game is BEAUTIFUL feels like a british holiday. still praying for a sequel the game left a mark on me

I loved this game too. I know it ain't for everyone but I thought it was excellent.

This game is far more beautiful then it has any right to be, the attention to detail is amazing (excluding the weirdly barren, identical house interiors). I played it for a couple of hours, got bored, came back to it six months later and couldn't put it down.

Takes a while for the story to get compelling (early sections are largely old ladies gossiping about the vicar) , sometimes you get stranded with no idea where to go and the walking speed is painfully slow (the 'run' has you increase your speed from 3mph to 4mph over 5 seconds)

Absolute bargain if you like this sort of thing. Graphically stunning, awesome original score and dark story.

I bought it a while ago. Slow to get around and not much happening but it does look good.
