Sad state of affairs when Poundland closes .. Maybe we are heading for another downturn

I hope the staff were put on half pay for the last week - only fair

Poundland has changed its business model and sells thing for more than £1 now, similar to poundworld. So once the irritating how much question is no longer as irritating for once.

The Rock is the main shopping street in the town of Bury. Calling the OP illiterate or drunk is a pathetic statement when a simple google search would have provided you with the answer.

It seems loads of the shops there have closed down. I go past that shop everyday and the ques for the till are usually long, so cant be that they arnt doing good business.

This particular branch originally opened as a 99p Store, a chain which was subsequently bought by Poundland.

The Rock is a relatively new shopping centre which opened a few years ago, so I'm guessing the rent is quite high.

There is still a Poundland in the older Mill Gate shopping centre on the other side of Bury town centre.

The one in Bishops stortford is closing and a having its 50% sale
