Came across this 22'' TFT here from Evesham for 119.98 inc vat + delivery looks a good deal. Going by the spec it has DVI and D-Sub connection and a decent response time of 5ms.

Great price for a 22". I'm not an expert on the specs of monitors...but for this sort of price, who cares!!!!

Also....looks like they give 4% Quidco.

Original Poster

Yea no expert myself but thought this looked a good price

contrast ratio 700:1. Is that bad?

Hmmm, interesting, looks like a re-badged ]Viewsonic VG2230WM which also seems to have the same spec but retails at double the price.

If it is it's a blinding deal.

Anyone know if this has a glossy screen?

What's this bit mean?

Colour Support 24-bit (16.7 million colours)

24 bit is a bit... odd?

yeah it looks like a rebranded viewsonic, fantastic value for money

Great deal!

No it wont have, they only attract fingerprints anyway.

if i were u ppl beware cos a company known as time computers who have recently woke up from administration have bought out evesham and majority of evesham stock has been shifted to time computers in burnley lancashire, everyone knows the rep of this comapny they are the biggest frauds in this country i know cos i have worked there, so do ur research before u buy!!

p.s customer service at time uk is non existent they only want your money.

seems a little too cheap...

8 bit per colour (R, G and B) gives you 24 bit. Normally when it says 24 bit it means (but not necessarily) that monitor got matrix, which is not TN+ (and that is a good thing!). TN+ matrices normally got 16.2M colours (6 bit + 2 FRC).

Well I 've bought one through quidco,
I don't know if it will turn up though as B4 I bought one there was 12 left, half an hour later there are still 12 left. Even if no one else bought one there should only be 11

If it is a re-badged Viewsonic then there's a pretty indepth review ]here.

On the other hand I had a faulty Sat-Nav from Evesham, was out of warranty by a month, and didnt have a receipt anyway -- but they fixed it free of charge and within 14 days! I was very impressed and would certainly consider buying from Evesham in the future based on this..

(this was beginning of December - so unless they've gone downhill in a month!)

What about this one, £127 and you can go to store and pick one up. Plus it looks like the contrast ratio is alot better - 1000:1

I didnt know that Time was rising from the dead. Now I know this, I will stay well clear from Evesham (I used to work at Time too)

I believe that model doesn't have a DVI connection and Belinea's aren't supposed to be that great - well not as good as Viewsonic's anyway.

i've bought one anyway as a second screen... can't be that bad..

Hmm, I have not had a belinea for a number of years, but one thing I know is PC World started selling viewsonics and we never had so many DOA monitors back until then. Even the ****** aoc ones were better.

Damn you...i've just gone and got one as well!

Anyway, perhaps you had a bad batch? Viewsonic have been going for years and have a pretty good rep.

make no mistake ppl evesham was a very reputable companhy but they went into admin and were bought out by time uk and everyone knows how good they are, so now cos of time evesham have also lost they rep and gone down hill!!! i have worked at time recently for a year and i know everything that goes on there i suspect itt is a branded viewsonic as they had so much of this in the stock warehouse it was full of em!!! but beware.

Lol, sorry. I diddnt want to put a dampener on it. Its a fantastic deal. And let me say, viewsonics after care was second to none. - Even with people on here saying that evesham are owned by time now, with things like this you are usually referred to the manufacturer. Which is a good thing, cos if its faulty. They come to your house with a new one!!

A mate of mine used to work in one of the Time shops they used to have and he said they used to dread a large promotion on PC's coz they'd end up seeing them all come back with various faults.

gone for one!

The damage is done...i'm in a big girly sulk right now.:-D

Nah, not really. lol.

I'm sure you're right on all counts. Anyway, i've been in IT for years and have loads of experience of seeing Viewsonics merrily slogging it out 24/7 for years in offices.

Lol, one thing I will say, dont think I am a pc world boffin, I left there a long time ago lol, hate the place! - Great deal

By the way, strange how it stills says "12 in stock" it's said that from the start. I'm sure quite a few of us have ordered one by now.

I just hope we don't have to prepare ourselves for the dreaded cancellation e-mails.

I just ordered one too, slightly worrying to see that the stock count doesn't change, but heres hoping.

There’s no mention of what the warranty is for this which kills this deal for me after reading that Time have bought the company. If it was a Viewsonic branded monitor the warranty would be with them but it isn’t.

I’d rather spend an extra £20 and get the Neovo on offer at Scan; that price is with free postage:

22" Neovo H-W22 V2 Widescreen LCD, 1680x1050, DVI, 2000:1 DCR, 300 cd/m2, 3 ms, Speakers, VESA

That’s not unusual as many online retailers don’t have real-time stock levels that change as you place an order. Stock levels often only change when the order is confirmed or picked.

Question: Do you need a special graphics card to display the native 1680x1050 resolution? I want to get this to attatch to my laptop which only has an integrated video card and I can only pump the res up to the native on the laptop screen.

I've got one of these. It is an OK monitor with idiotic buttons arrangement (but then, how many times do you actuallu use monitor's menus). Mine came with 2 dead pixels (one resurrected now). Good video and gaming performance so far, but brightness must be turned down, as default value is way too high.

Warranties aren't always high profile on sites. I'm sure there'll be a card with 3 years on it in the box, but you could always go for one and cancel the order within 7 days of receiving it.

Windows should give you the option to show this resolution. But dont expect to do too much with it other than basic glazing. - The GPU will be maxxed out!

The scan one works out £164.65 including vat and del. I think the scan one looks nicer, but is it worth the extra money

Hurry! Still only 12 in stock!

Which Scan one? The one that's identical to this?

Unfortunately, I can't get the free postage for me to work, maybe there is a voucher to add.
