Some people have had problems with this SatNav unit, so I would advise reading the most recent thread replies and exercise caution before purchasing this unit as some people have received refurb units, wrong power connectors and problems returning for refund.

yes i think evesham have gone bust. i have a friend that is a Bailiff and he has worked on the evesham case.

These units are manufactured by Navigon and the navigation software is the Destinator PN package.

I'd recommend purchasing using a credit card for the added protection.

doesn't the extra credit card protection only apply to single items of over £100 value?

Evesham and barge pole spring to mind since their recent events.;-)

Yes - well pointed out.

i got mischarged with a debit card recently and got my money back from the bank

It said on a review I read that this comes supplied with a FM Traffic Update receiver, but I can't see this mentioned anywhere on the website which is selling the product...

:?

/edit: I think the review was on the TMC version... ?

If they have gone bump and cease to trade, will it still be possible to download updates?

Does anyone know where can pick up cheap tom tom one from?

Was about to order one untill the free delivery turned into £22 for Northern Ireland

How do you order the european version? :?

have ordered one, but got it from www.lowestonweb.com for the same price and no postage, as it uses destinator maps, updates should still be available.

Thats it arrived and working fine

good deal but sounds like not without significant risk

Bingo. If they were actually "bust", they'd have ceased trading. However, their site is still accepting orders (LOW), as well as despatching them.

you also get 4% quidco

You might be able to find Mio C510E for £69 at Asda if your lucky, don't got your hopes up though!

stay away by the sounds of things

Do these SatNav have an audio commentary or do you just have to look at the display?

forget it spend a few more pennies and get a tomtom,,, cold cold cold

A friend paid £400 for this last summer, great little system , this is great price.

Evesham are not a new company trading under the Evesham brand - it's exactly the same company with the same staff, albeit significantly fewer of them!

looking round i found this on ebay

Unlock the potential of your Sat Nav for just £5. The starting price is the selling price.
This auction is for a CD containing all the software and detailled instructions for converting your BM 6300 Sat Nav into a fully functional media player.
After conversion, you will still have all the functions of your BM 6300 Sat Nav System, but you will now also have an MP3 player and a Media Player, to enable you to play your music and films. You will also have unlocked your system, enabling you to load some other pocket pc programmes - although not all programmes can be loaded.
The CD contains the instruction manual in Word format - To help you to open your Win CE device and install the MP3 and Media Players - the programmes required and a programme for converting your films into the format necessary to play them back.
The good thing about the conversion programme, is that it shrinks the film without losing quality - meaning that you can store more films on a storage card
If you just want to play music, you'll be able to store quite a few tracks on your device, and there should still also be some spare capacity on your existing storage card.
However, if you want to play films, you will need to buy yourself a storage card of at least 1Gb. If your original films are good enough quality to start with, the conversion programme will probably enable you to fit 3 films onto it. You can pick up a 1Gb card on Ebay for less than £10.
Like me, you might be frustrated at the unavailability of up to date maps for your BM 6300 system. So, after you've converted, you can also buy and load the software for other sat nav systems, such as tomtom.

Although I can't confirm it, check my feedback which will show that another satisfied buyer successfully loaded his Garmin software too.

The programme will also work on the Medion 150 and Transonic 4000 - as they are the same as the BM 6300. It will probably work on others as well, but I can't confirm that. However, for £5 it might be worth the gamble.
If you're interested, or have any questions, please send me a message. However, please don't ask me if it'll work on your tomtom etc, because I really don't know - sorry.
"

it might be able to hack it to a ppc. and once thats done possibly new maps could be found. cant confirm but people might want to look int this if worried about maps. also the Medion 150 and Transonic 4000 do seem to look the same

Had one of these for nearly 2 years now, maps are third quater 2005 still getting camera updates from lowestonweb.com, works perfect had no trouble at all with it. payed £399 for it then but my one has TMC this one comes without it, cost £345 when it came out.I think there is an update on the Destinator web site, also you can change it to Navigon but I would leave it . A BARGAIN

yes it has a audio commentary

I've just ordered me one - can't knock this price in spite of Evesham's recent sandbank & tarnished takeover - ]Evesham blames Brown... - maybe the existing employees deserve a bit of support!

It's had good reviews and the fact that it can be hacked to Windows CE is a huge plus.

Good unit at a cracking price!

have ordered one as well from low as well. decided that was the better one if evesham does go bust. liability would be with the retailer as far as i know.

LowestOnWeb.co.uk is the retail outlet of Evesham, so you're still ordering from Evesham.
I don't know what happened to my last post (It's just appeared above - I am new here!) but I've also ordered one too!

Well worth the price in spite of Evesham's recent past IMHO :-D

At least we're supporting the staff that still work there!

As has been said, same outfit as Evesham, buy at your own risk.

I personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole since their last episode.

anyone know if u can load tom tom navigator on one of these instead of using the pre loaded maps??

could anyone tell me where to get euro maps for this thanks

heres a link for people who want to unlock it

]http//ww…300

apparently someone put tomtom 6 on it

I've been told by them that it comes with the 1gb card including European maps

Ordered one 3 weeks ago (on mse forum) was not happy as it was obviously refurb. Sent it back- the replacement was even worse (not correct model , just put in a 6300 box). Asked for a refund and am still waiting - so be warned. Phoned cs only to be told it is taking a long time as it has to go through the administrators.

Hi, just ordered one for my wife for christmas (she does some district nursing so will ne useful) then read some of the comments, I hope it is delivered after some of the postings here !!! seems great value anyway, and obviously owners of one already are recommending them so hope springs !!
