Not a great deal, but as good as you'll get in the current environment without a mis-price or perfect timing

Amazon have the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5X, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6183-KR available to buy for £519.02, and due in stock soon.

Hope this is useful to someone, hopefully a gamer rather than a miner, but all's fair etc

I’d have to save an extra £100-£150 for 11GB 1080 ti or wait for the new 1080 in summer

Weirdly amazon is saying it's available on Prime Now for me.

The supply of all mid to high range graphics cards are been hoovered up by crypto-currency (bitcoin, ethereum etc) miners as the high values of bitcoin et al make it pretty profitable. For example, according to the nicehash profitability calculator, this card could generate about £80 a month profit, even taking into account electricity costs. And miners buy more than one, so card manufacturers cannot keep up with demand.
Ordered this morning at 10 got prime, but delivery still showing feb the 12th for me. But orders now showing the 9th lol just hope my date changes on amazon.
But not a bad price also got a 1070ti on pre order from novatech but not holding my breath on that one.
The 1070ti is a better card for mining anyway. Much lower power consumption, lower temps, 1 x 8 pin needed, lower cost to buy. I’ll only mine with 1070ti now.

Better card for mining, I agree. Lower cost to buy, only if you can find one, and there is a premium now, because they are a better mining card

To many people / little boys that live at home or no lives with to much of mummy / daddy's money !!!! That's my option
Buy it, before miners will.

This is only a 180w card with 1x8 pin power so peaks the same as a 1070ti. I’m gaming with it but going to mine for a while to pay for the card
Available via prime now in Birmingham

I've already a 1080ti so I'll leave this for someone who needs it.

Whilst you're in the right area, it's not people like me (I have a 8x 1080ti rig) that are causing the shortage, it's companies that literally fill up warehouses with these things (look up Genesis Mining as one example) that's are the real issue. Suppliers are selling direct to them for maximum profit, we're left with the scraps, so to speak.

Very true. The memory in these isn't ideal, GDDR5x has slightly more latency than GDDR5, making the 1070ti the better of the two for mining.

Indeed, a wonderful option. You essentially get it for free, maybe wash your dad's Porsche twice or something, regardless of that, still a great option.

Course your part of the problem you've got 8 cards there isn't the supply to give everyone 8 just because there's a few warehouses with hundreds/thousands of cards I'm sure there are just as much people with multiple GPUs bought primarily for mining
To think 1080s were getting close to the £400 mark at one point.

A few? Do you realise how profitable this is/has been? There's far more than a few out there, and they're buying direct, so these cards aren't even hitting the stores. It's easy money for the for now.

yup - 700 now - expired,.
Mining

Run your whole system uncomfortably hot for extended periods. Make your components sweat. Decrease their lifespan. Make your room unbearably noisy and hot.
And if you've bought a rig just to have it mine in a separate room that's a massive outlay to make a few £/day/GPU.

It's crazy what people will do to 'mine' £2-£3/day.

You're quite right, it's crazy what some people will do to mine. For most however, a return on investment of only 3-4 months is really good, and if you buy whole rigs, it's more than just beer money, it can easily pay for a holiday for the whole family.
Shortages in stock due to the increase in demand by miners. I personally have nothing against one person buying a whole bunch of GPUs to mine. My issue is with these massive organisations that are buying 100's of GPUs direct from NVIDIA and other suppliers. Places like this are mining on next levels, or are using the cards for deep learning AI machines. Taking advantage of cheap electricity costs in places like Norway for e.g.

It’s odd as mine had a date of today, but now this morning it has changed to delivery estimate with an unknown date... but ****** now as it was Friday then they reduced it to Tuesday then Monday ... now it’s probably another few weeks now so not sure what’s going at amazon. As they must have had stock to reduce the delivery dates.
Might have to try online chat

I don't think they have a clue frankly. I don't doubt they've been stiffed by a supplier, but in that case you'd think they'd have the decency to tell us. I've got this on order for the main machine, and a 1050ti as an upgrade for the little'uns minecrafter, and BOTH have now been delayed twice...
Not happy, Amazon. Not happy at all.

Yep definitely supplier issues, probably sold them all to companies in Iceland with 500+ gpu mining warehouses. My gaming card blew up 3 weeks ago now and I’m still waiting. I don’t mind the wait but waiting and paying 100 quid over the odds is doing my sweed in

Guess I could be a lucky one then. Apparently its out for delivery so they must be getting drips of stock in
