Considering how it's a lucky day to get a founders for £650 even this is a steal for £608, never seen a 1080ti with a cooling solution like this at such a cheap price.

All I'll say is, you're either WITH ME or AGAINST ME.

If you're with me, I'll treat you right, spoon every night.

Jokes aside, if you want this (as the OP will know...) I'd order before 9am.

Yesterday the same price changed at exactly 02:30am and reverted back to £699.99 at around 9am.

I've got a bigger shed than this pretender, that's all that matters.

I didn't get to order this one when it came up last time.

I did get two of the founders at £582 on Friday though so there is that which was one day before you put it one here incidentally.

Also my shed may be small but It now contains 5 1080tis.

Rules of Fight Club:

1. FE deal has nothing to do with this, it was £582 and you listed it at £650. So, I call BS, post a screen shot of your order.

2. Always credit the original poster.

3. My shed is better than yours.

4. These are 1 order per household, so I also call BS.

The 2nd one was ordered on prime now which made itself to me that very day. Must be a good way to get around one per household rules by the looks.

Will look more carefully in future so there's no need for you to conduct ICMB testing from your shed.

Bought this. Still pondering if I actually need it. Damn site. Now left stressing how this component makes the rest of my system seem ancient!

Placed my FE order on 7th as well, 22nd delivery. Must have been making my shed bigger.

If they didn't limit how many I could order I'd have ordered 6, alas I dont want to be that guy who creates 20 amazon accounts.

Hell a new 1080ti under £620 I'd buy more any day.

I wonder if the gtx 2070 will offer similar performance? there's talk of hardware based dx12 stuff and better asynchronous compute. Obviously Nvidia will bump the price, so I bet it will cost 450-500 RRP. Wait or buy this?

Nobody knows for sure when Volta is coming. Rumours are anywhere from soon to anytime next year.

One thing is for sure, they can charge whatever they like for it.

Original Poster

Can't personally see the 2070 beating the 1080ti and Volta is still months away.

Personally I just upgrade every time a new ti comes along, hasn't caused me regret so far.

There needs to be competition, there's no evidence yet that AMD have a competitive product in Vega, so we'll see when Vega arrives, if it's the usual AMD hype which it's now veering towards then Nvidia won't be pressed to release anything too soon and carry on milking the 1070 and 1080 line because AMD doesn't compete in that sector yet.

I have R9 270 GPU so I'm not biased against AMD.

You mean except for the fact Vega FE is highly competitive against the 1080GTX (and Ti) pending the price point.

If they can hit £500 they have a solid product based on Reddit benches and so on.

Knowing AMD the Vega will need a lot of watts.

I Use GPUs to mine for crypto currencies.

I'm one of the reasons you can't buy a RX 580.

Damm tried to cancel the Asus strix bought yesterday to get this for cheaper but to late there dispatching it. the estimated arival time was the end of the month so these cards look like they are dispatching earlier than estimated. Just hope the vega don't turn out to be a beast of a card now

Original Poster

Well in regards to them dispatching early mines estimated for Saturday.

Also just return the strix if you want to save some money, they shouldn't charge you until it's dispatched.

Guaranteed, 300-350W the FE is drawing.

Which currency and what hash rate with a Ti?

Contact CS, they will instruct the delivery firm to return it to base. I did the same thing last week on the day of delivery.

Other option, is simply to refuse delivery.

Been selling my GPU power on nVidia side with a program so which pays in BTC getting ~0.002BTC a day per card.

Also have them drawing ~200W per card.

And yet again I regret going for a freesync monitor.

Vega needs to hurry up.

If they are good at mining I hope you can click very fast, doesn't seem that way though if they all draw 300W then they'll be plenty.

I'm waiting on the 144hz 4K HDR GSync panel personally.

Can't be much profit in that once you factor conversion and energy costs?

37MH/S Eth with FE. But Vega is amazing for Monero, like SERIOUSLY profitable.

Original Poster

Conversion costs like £4.00 and energy is mostly offset with my solar panels, especially during the day for obvious reasons.

Let's snowball a hypothetical gaming system that mines on the side, let's go with 2x 1080ti at the current rate it would make around ~0.004BTC which is worth ~£8 that system over 24H uses 18KWH of electricity let's say 14p per KWH £2.52 in power cost.

So overall £8-£2.52 = £5.42 a day for that system.

Bare in mind that Cypto can and has crashed many times before and I've only being doing this as a hobby/investment with money I can more than afford to lose.

If this is true will be very hard to get any stock of vega

If I carry on I'll trip all my breakers by drawing too much power.

I'm more of a EVGA zealot nowadays, never had trouble with Asus though should be a very solid card.
