Hot on the heels of the other 1080Ti cards today (FTW3 / Strix - £666, FE £582) here's another AIB card, but this time cheaper.

This review may help you to determine the relative worth and merits of the FTW3/Strix versus the SC2 and FE cards.

TLDR: There's nothing between them performance wise at all and only a little variance of temp and some acoustic differences.

If you want an aftermarket card for lower temps than the FE offers, I'd suggest this one over the FTW3/Strix based on price alone.

27cm long in case you were wondering, Strix is 29.5cm.

You need to click 'other sellers' to see the Amazon price listed.

I've since found a cheaper deal, listed here @ £608: hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…432

I'm glad they've labelled it Gaming. I was going to use this to improve performance in Microsoft Word, but now I see that it would be fruitless.

Nope, you just have to click other buying options to see the one by Amazon.

Seems the ti is popular for offers lately, guess it's to keep it popular as Vega launches.

Just seen it.. 2-3 weeks delivery time..

But at least it's in stock!

But reading the reviews one person said : This card kills every game.Awsome card.

I would want to play the game not kill it. Is there a card that does this?

Another 1080 ti offer The way things are going they will be given these things away by the end of the day. Not sure if I should buy now or wait to see what impact vega has on the market. decision decision. Suppose I could always get one as 2 to 3 weeks dispatched time gives me a bit of time to cancel if I decide too.

From the looks of things with the Frontier Edition VEGA will be competitive in terms of performance with the 1080.
The 1080 Ti will remain top dog until Volta.

I think vega will be in the middle of 1080 and 1080 ti performance it just depends on how they price it to see any impact on the market but the way things are going it could be a while before any are in stock anywhere and i can't be bothered to wait anymore so have gone for 1080 ti strix for £666 which is a bit more than this but I like some of its feature and its meant to be a bit quieter than is

Well out of all the 1080ti currently on offer I went for the FTW3, because it's the best specified or has the best cooler? Nope, because it looks like the one that has the longest lead time (no date yet) to arrive so maybe, but a big maybe, I can just about save up enough for it before it actually is ready to ship

It doesn't need to if they can hit £500 and be competitive with the GTX, with freesync it's still compelling.

I think if they do release it at that price these cards might drop to £600 but only time will tell and can't wait for ever

What has that got to do with the 1080ti reducing in price? People want performance, not "oh it'll be better than the crap AMD already have out, so it's fine at a reduced price"

Don't see it happening until Volta is launched. Nvidia don't need the money, they can just drop the 1070 and GTX to corner the middle-upper market.

Pascal doesn't owe NV anything at this point and sadly AMD have completely missed the window for recouping their Vega costs. By the time they've got distribution across all regions with good supply everyone will be waiting for Volta and will then be competing with NV new architecture.

Unless they launch Navi by Q2 next year I don't see how they gain share, they're always 6 months behind with getting to market. I'd love to be proven wrong though!

Where in the quote does it mention anything about the Ti reducing in price? I'll help you, it doesn't.

Yeah I agree vega needed to be released months ago to have any impact amd seem so far behind at the moment which is a shame.

I'd return it for one of the new deals for sure.

EVGA is also good for resale as the warranty is transferable and they allow you to remove the cooler (to repaste etc) without voiding the warranty.

FTW3 or this SC gives a decent saving.

"Offers" doesn't mean price reduction (i.e Nvidia dropping MSRP). There have been cards at £660 or in some cases less for the last few months, which is basically since launch.

I don't think Vega will be inbetween, at best, it will match the 1080.

We have seen theoretical benches, which AMD have always been competitive at, and they are near the 1080.

Once real game situations are presented, the Vega 'leaked' will barely compete with the 1080. By the time it releases, next year, the 1080 will be over 1.5 years old.

Let that sink in a bit. Vega will join the market 1.5 years after the 1080 hit, and barely beat it (if they're lucky).

If you are happy to wait, just look for the Volta.

Even better … Even better deal:http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-sc-black-edition-608-33-amazon-2735432

This is now dead. Prices hiked.

If you want a Ti, order one quickly before they raise prices - they only take cash on dispatch (2-3 weeks) and you can cancel in the event of Prime Day offers.

The Black edition of this is down to £608, albeit with a 2-3 week lead time. amazon.co.uk/EVG…0ti
