The cheapest 1070 on the market right now that's from EVGA! A three year warranty that EVGA will stand by plus RGB for those who like a pretty graphics card

I would get 980ti and save 60 ish quid.

GPU pricing is horrific!

1070 should be £299, £199 for 1060 and £399 for 1080

I was trying to play BF1 at 4K but it just feels a little bit sluggish with the GTX 1070 so back to 1080P. Some say this card is overkill at 1080P but not if you want everything up to the max. Or 1440 it works a dream (but my 4k TV is limited to 30fps at that res.)
I know want a 1080 or 1080TI but just can't warrent the money.

Been running one of these since they came out pretty much, hasn't missed a beat. UK GPU pricing is so high though.. paid £250 in the states back then.

Current prices are outrageous. I'll stick with the 1060 I got for £155 from Ebuyer and lower resolution/detail and use my Xbox X for 4k because £ for £ that is far better value than the current prices

1070 is much more efficient than the 980Ti.

Prices are ridiculous at the moment - wanting to upgrade my 780 Ti and will be going down the 980 Ti route I think.

1070 is a fantastic GPU no doubt, but I just cannot justify the pricing at the moment.

Utterly terrible price, dunno how this even got to 100. If you are going to spend nearly £400 on a GPU you might as well go up to the 1070ti or even a GTX1080. Back when these cards came out (seems eons ago now as Nvidia want to milk this series to death), the GTX1070 was supposed to be the more sensibly priced high end of mid range counterpart to the GTX1080, now they nearly cost as much as lower end 1080s...

I'm in the market for a 1070, what's people opinion on the future price especially Christmas sales etc? Do you think this could drop below £300?

I got the following for £337 delivered in Oct using £30 Amazon Fresh promo...so I think prices will be lower than this deal very soon

Also had this since it came out and it's been amazing (I paid £430 the week it was released so I agree prices are a bit silly on these still). Note that because of the RGB this does take 2x PCI-E connectors rather than 1 on the regular 1070s if anyone was limited at all.

wouoln't you be better off spending £410 for a 1070TI?

My new build I was transfixed with a 1070, until HUKD members made me think twice. I picked up a £150 1060 and will use this to play 1080, i will wait for the next gen of cards and prices to come down to a sensible level when Bitcoin implodes!

I will then sell the 1060 for half what i paid for it.

I would say 1080 or 1060, 1070 is poor value for price / output.

crypto craze is dying down you say?

Have you seen Bitcoin recently?

Yes, I follow it, the surge in price is not sustainable and due for a significant correction. Also the new legislation on owners having to disclose sale and purchase transactions will remove some of the appeal of the currency for some.

I'll just hang on to my 970 then. Until these cards hit sub £300, I'm not buying.

yes you would... Or even better, try to get 1080 on ebay for around £440. I got mine couple months ago for £410

It is, and requires only 1 power connector, but performance is the same and I don't think you would see a massive difference in you electricity bill

I've been following the price of 1070s for about 5 months now and I haven't seen it go below £300 at all, that was the price I was looking to pay too. It came close but then cryptocurrencies took over and all the prices shot up. I'm waiting for next-gen now.

The price surge is due to idiots who know nothing buying into it thinking they are going to get rich fast. It will just crash just like every other time, level out and rise again at a sustainable rate.

Crypto-currencies are not going anywhere, anytime soon.
