Good price for the card alone but unfortunately this retailer isn't eligible to claim the £40 cashback or get the free game.

That's a shame - Amazon and Scan are about 520/525 from the looks of it, so depends whether you want to "chance" the cashback as such. Wildlands and For Honor aren't exactly holding their price tho 2% cashback on quidco for this as well if that's your thing.

I noticed this yesterday on PC Partpicker. Had been weighing up whether to upgrade to a 1600X system, and price wise it came out as the same price as this. Seems a no brainer to stick with a 4790K and pair it with a 1080 at this price.

I bought GR Wildlands a few days before release, and then decided to buy a new card which came with a code for GR Wildlands or For Honor. I have no interest in For Honor and because you need a 1080 installed in the machine there's little market for selling the code

(I bought the card from Scan).

Should have gone with the 1600x and a 1070.

this brand had to re-release this model due to overheating issues...if you buy this then claim the thermal pads free from evga and diy

im not sure if its ftw or sc version

Doubt there's much of a difference between the 1600x and the 4790k when it comes to gaming. Plus you'd have to buy a new motherboard and ddr4 ram so its really not worth it for little to no benefit. Getting the 1080 is definitely the better option.

I thought the ACX 3.0 was the revised design? Not 100% sure on that though

ICX cooling and sending the card is completely different thing. You messed two separate things together. As I said all the cards in the shops are already updated with new pads and bios.
On the top of that you can get a refreshed model with new ICX cooling called FTW2 ICX.
