A bit niche, but it might help someone. Really cracking price for a very good modular 650w PSU if anyone is looking for one.

It's the cheapest it's been I believe, and is pretty much the same price as the 550W variant.

Good for a modular
G2 and G3 are both reduced to around this price. Not sure which is better but seems like the G3 is smaller so likely that the G2 would be quieter.

Fantastic power supply - this fixed all the random crashes I kept having my computer - after replacing motherboard, graphics card (3x), memory chips, processor (2 x) and still having problems tried this and bingo! Who'd have though a generic 450 w power supply was causing all my computer problems
Same price at Novatech and CCL with free low priority shipping and possible Quidco/TCB.
Did some research on PSUs when I was purchasing.
G3 is smaller, but also a newer version - ie and upgrade from G2.
EVGA are practically from the same producers as Superflower/Leadex also considered as top tier PSUs.

I personally own this PSU, chose it over the GS/GA/G2 series and had no problems whatsoever, and the chances of you hearing a PSU fan are pretty low.
Bought it on EBuyer when it was £90~, so super hot deal in my opinion.
I got mine on PrimeNow. At the moment it is only £1 more but you can have it delivered in hours if you are in the right area. Great for when your computer needs some TLC.
Great deal, however the price is back up at 90GBP

Me, I would've thought it.

Niche product OP? that may have been the first time I have seen niche used to describe something that literally many billions of people are using every minute of the day

I think most people who build PCs ought to know a power supply is the last thing you should cheap out on. Sounds like you just learnt the hard way

It got a lot hotter than I expected! I meant the deal was a bit niche compared to something like a game

Maybe, I don't know the figures after all... but I've not bought a pre-built for over 15 years personally. Even back in the mid 90's I always upgraded my PCs myself, it's not hard after all, just a little knowledge required.
I think anyone that buys pre-built windows machines in this day and age are missing out on a great experience for one thing, and for another the amount of money you can save by building it yourself. I've seen people buy pre-built higher-end gaming machines that I could've built for at least £500 less, and would have better components too.

@OP - yeah, I guess it is more niche than games.
