Work as a team and bring down fearsome monsters in the tactical shooter, Evolve, available now for Xbox One. In the distant future, humanity has colonised beyond Earth, venturing out into space. Arriving at the distant planet called Shear, located in the ‘Far Arm’ of the galaxy, you play as a team of Hunters who track and kill the deadly monsters that call Shear their home.

Evolve’s online multiplayer is 4 vs 1, with a team of four players taking on the role of the Hunters, while one player becomes the Monster. Capable of evolving at rapid rates by consuming the smaller wildlife that lives on the planet, these varied Monsters are deadly and can quickly transform their bodies, gaining new fearsome abilities that can overpower a team of unprepared Hunters.

Monster mash
Pick from a trio of deadly Monsters, each with their own unique skills and abilities, all of them deadly. The Goliath has the strongest armour and can charge and throw large rocks at Hunters, temporarily stunning them. It can also breathe fire and smash its enemies, leaping over the environment to escape gunfire. The Kraken is an electricity-based squid-like monstrosity, and can use its lightning attacks and electrical blasts to trap and hurt the Hunters. The final Monster is the dreaded Wraith, which can silently warp towards Hunters and harm them, causing devastating damage in Evolve Xbox One.

Choose your Hunter
Evolve Xbox One features a total of 20 different human characters split into four classes, each class containing five characters. Only one class of Hunter is allowed in a multiplayer match, so you must choose wisely and perform your role well to bring down the Monster.

The Assault class is your damage dealer, equipped with heavy weapons such as shotguns, rocket launchers, flame throwers and mini-guns. Assault-class characters also have shields for their own protection and landmines.
The Trapper class uses their unique tools to track the Monster’s movements; as it occasionally scatters local wildlife, such as birds, the Trapper can use these ‘signs ‘ to find the location of the Monster and lead the Hunters to its location.
The Support class is the backup for the other Hunters in the squad. They are equipped with a laser cutter, or a shield that can be used to protect other Hunters. They can also provide temporary shielding to allies when the Monster is in full assault.
The Medic-class characters’ main technique is replenishing the vital health (or reviving) of team members. Medics are also equipped with a damage-dealing weapon to defend themselves, but they are weak on their own. Some medics can also revive teammates that have been killed by the Monster, giving you a second chance to win a match.

Unique multiplayer
Evolve Xbox One’s all-multiplayer experience requires you to play as a co-operative team, all working together to bring down the Monster and complete your objective. Meanwhile, one player must evolve as quickly as possible, devouring flora and fauna and evading the Hunters for as long as possible. Evolve has several different multiplayer modes, each of them requiring you to complete different tasks, from Rescue, where the Hunters must rescue a group of colonists that have been attacked by the Monster, to Defend, when you must stand off against the Monster and a horde of minions while a transport ship loaded with civilians fuels up ready to take off.

Agree - saw it on a LetsPlay and it looked good, but on GWG it was a bit of a novelty that felt like a badly designed/coded game.
£7 for a tea coaster
Nice idea let down by rubbish game play and strange decisions. Bargain bin junk.

I got it with GWG, still not tried it
Had this for free and it's terrible. Online matches take ages since it's dead and it's pretty much only online.

Should of got it with Games With Gold or wait until it's in the game pass. Wouldn't even entertain playing this game again.
Awful game, have seen it cheaper to..

Wasn't this due to go Free to play at some point?
