This one or brand new redmi 7a?
I have this phone. The only issue I have with the update is I can't figure out how to switch windows fast. But not much else has changed for my usage.
Launched in India. Would I have any problems with using the phone here?

No.....they were launched in India as new basic android OS phones at a budget price

The only thing you need to know is that your operator uses a supported frequency & these phones cover most commonly used operator frequencies

GSM:B2/B3/B5/B8
WCDMA:B1/B2/B4/B5/B8
LTE FDD:B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20
LTE TDD:B38/B40

The B40 is the commonly used frequency in India

I think this, unless battery life and a headphone jack are real priorities.
Is this phone better than a Samsung S6

I have this phone, it's great value for money and at this price unbeatable for the performance. Recommended
How old is this do we think, as battery life deteriorates after 2 years in all my various phone experience.

I'd say at this point. Yes.
Does this have NFC? The eBay listing says it has?

I have both. The S8 is a much better phone. The Mi A2 is a good budget phone but the S8 was designed as a flagship phone. The S8 is faster & has a much better camera.

Is it worth paying the extra £50 for the Mi a3? thanks
Very happy with this phone right now, it has a good battery life (2 days when on battery save mode), I'm happy with the RAM and memory storage.
Fab phone, only really missing NFC. Absolute steal tbh.
I have this phone and using with the update and have not seen any issues.

The only concern is that it would not get Android 11 so you would be stuck with no OS upgrade. I suppose you will still get security updates.

Smart question. I've had two Xiaomi phones; my old redmi 3As battery kept going really well, whereas my current pocophone has shown noticeable deterioration after 14 months.

Fortunately the battery was phenomenal before so now it's regressed to "pretty good", which is still ok. But still, it's something I'm now wary of.
Noticed the same seller doing the A2 lite for 77 quid. Really isn't a huge amount of difference between the two.

Yeah I'm the same with my Pocophone. It's a shame really because the Poco is a great phone that had an amazing battery. I'm hoping that the 2 big updates MIUI 11 and Android 10 are the reasons battery life is now just 'good' and that once they've had time to sort out issues it might be better.
Apart from the camera's and the headphone jack, Is there a big difference between the a2 and a3?

Really tempted by this deal

From memory the A2 has the snapdragon 660 and the A2 Lite has the 625 - there is quite a difference between the two.

I have the A2 and it's a brilliant phone. I bought it as a family spare when my Google Pixel was sent for a warranty replacement. General observations between the A2 and the Pixel:

The processing speed between the two is similar
The A2 is less buggy
The A2 battery is very impressive
The Pixel camera is much better - the A2 is average
The fingerprint sensor on the back of the A2 is not as good as the Pixel
The A2 doesn't lie flat due to the camera bump
The A2 holds 2 sim cards which works very well
Memory management on the A2 is much better and doesn't close down apps unnecessarily
Android 10 on the A2 is great - no problems so far. The Pixel is very much end of life at Android 9 (10 is very buggy).

I've seen a few Reddit posts where the physical battery capacity for many users has degraded, some to nearly half. There are apps that can measure that. So it's not a software issue unfortunately.

I think the battery will be fine until the end of the year at the least. If it gets bad I guess I'm going to have to do some surgery and buy a new battery. Apparently genuine ones can be had for 20 quid; it'd definitely be worth it because the rest of the hardware for the poco could last another 2 years I reckon.

I had a blue A2 for a while. it was OK, but one of the routine firmware update almost bricked it. I will say having the bootloader unlocked might not be a bad idea.

Compare to the Lenovo P2 I had before that,
- the battery on the P2 last a lot longer,
- P2 has NFC but A2 doesnt. The lack of NFC was a little annoying. - A2 is noticeably faster, and look nicer. - A2 has no bloatware as expected.I agree with @MrSwitch A3 is a better by if budget can be stretched.
I wonder how the batteries are. Used battery, possibly been sitting around for a while in an unknown state.

Say it doesn't last a day, can you claim on the warranty?

Is it worth paying the extra £50 for the Mi a3? thanks

The mi a3 should get updates for longer and the battery life, cpu and camera are better. The screen is 720p vs 1080p but to be honest the average bod probably wouldn't notice. The in screen fingerprint is not great with a screen protector on but face unlock works well (although less secure). I have both phones, mi a2 is my backup but I will probably sell it later this year, both are good phones but for me the mi a2 battery is a bit small. It might be worth holding out for the mi a4 if you can.

Heat. Xiaomi phones are brill. Redmi 4x still running well after about 3 years and my new MI 8 is lightning fast. Not sure why anyone would pay over 200 for a phone these days.
