I missing something, isn't the 8 around this price?
Bargain

From aliexpress maybe yeah!
Two completely different purchases, but I get where you're coming from.

I'm guessing there are people out there that would rather buy an excellent condition refurb from and UK ebay seller, than risk buying from aliexpress, I'm not one of those people.

This had great reviews at £190 - at this price it's a bargain!
How's this compare to redmi note 8t. I have just ordered the 3gb for £104 brand new ?

Less gaming performance.... that's it

They are very similar in terms of raw specs, but the 8t has superior processor (just) and nfc over this. This obviously gives you more ram and storage. A smaller form factor as well, not by a lot, but it is smaller.

Just a further note from my last comment... the trade off for slightly less gaming performance is the better power efficiency
Is the one at £115 the global version? Just noticed that the un-boxed one at £110 specifically states it's global version but the boxed one at £115 doesn't...

It comes with an EU plug, so I'd say global Version.
You've owned one Switchy?

Looks good just a bit worried about Xiaomi software on it

Specs are great. Fast charge. Decent battery and screen

Yeah, owned then give away. I like miui in all honesty
I have one, its a good phone. Notification light is at the bottom of the phone which i don't like but the Redmi Note8t doesn't even have a notification light!! So this is still better for just that reason haha
Ordered for the wife, thanks!

No problem, glad it's helped someone
I've got this phone. Brilliant for the price. Good screen, fast, and I like Miui too.
@MrSwitch great work! Can you recommend a good, current small android phone please?

On my list I have:

Pixel 3a
S10e

Have I missed anything?

Got new Redmi Note 8 64GB for less
audin19/02/2020 09:23

Link?

I imagine, in fact I guarantee he got it from some Chinese site.
Anyone own one of these?

Can you download and install Google Play Services for AR? play.google.com/sto…_GB

I develop for Android and I want to develop Augmented Reality but I've nothing to test on. There are only a limited number of supported devices and the Redmi Note 7 is on the list (Note 8 isn't). I almost pulled the trigger on Amazon for one of these at £160 but when I asked on there I was told it wasn't supported.

At £115 I'd buy even if it is pre owned but AR support is essential. I own the Note 5 which can't use the software but I like the phone and why I want to stick with Xiaomi.

Edit* If I buy and AR doesn't work, can I return the phone because of distant selling regulations?

Edit2* Never mind, I bit the bullet and bought the A grade. Hope I've made the right choice but I've been asking for a few days about choice of phone and I can't do anything with my AR code until it arrives.

Definitely. I just find it massively annoying when people post on here about getting something cheaper elsewhere but don't bother to provide any factual information...

I would but the merchant is banned.

You can post the name....

Eglobal, or Bangood at a guess

Banggood. Chinese seller, right. I know it's not directly comparable but just to imagine: Next Generation phone New is cheaper than old Generation, used. I don't think it's worth to Pay extra Charge for so much less value - even from European seller.
Phone has arrived already! Impressive delivery speed! At work at minute so haven't actually seen it, hoping all is well when I check it over later.

Fingers crossed 🤞
Switchy - This, a new Moto G7 Power or the OPPO A5 from Cex you posted last week? Rear cam quality is my priority. Thanks

If this was new I'd say this, I'm inclined to say the oppo if you can live with the ui.
Much. Much appreciated.
Well I've checked the phone over and apart from some very small surface scratches on the screen it's perfect. By the time the wife's done with it it'll be in a far worse state anyway
Any more feedback on the condition these phones have been arriving in? Tempted to get one to use as a back up while I get my Galaxy S8 screen replaced
