The 500MB with unltd mins and texts after the £40 reward card works out to be £2.66pm and the 3gb for £5pm with £60 reward card. I've had confirmation via chat sims can be ordered on separate orders to claim individual reward cards, it takes 45 days for the reward cards to arrive.

Looks good but what can you buy with a BT reward card?

You can pay it into your bt account for starters.
It's a MasterCard charge card to the best of my knowledge, so you can use it just about anywhere. (I could be wrong).

I had Bt rewards before, it is usually a master credit card , can use almost any shop accept master card, not sure if it works abroad
Thank you all. I have looked on the BT site and it looks like its accepted most places. What a brilliant deal!
Is the reward card for existing BT sim only customers also?
Don't forget to use TCB as well. I've regularly had both tcb and reward card.
Card works just like any mastercard. Also worked for getting a free month out of netflix, even when it was almost empty. I don't think they always accept preloaded payment cards, so that was interesting.
I've had a card it's easy to use most places BUT actually getting the card is the difficult bit, they pass you from pillar to post going round in circles till most people give up! However I persisted and did get it

I'm confused because on live chat informed me Reward Card it's NOT for existing customers
Yes and you are stuck on contract when ch doubles if you leave.

Can anyone confirm this? I thought I'd read somewhere that if your broadband contract goes up and you exercise your right to cancel you will keep the £5 discount. If you just leave in the normal fashion after your contract ends then you don't.

Where in TC's does it say this?

Afraid you can't get both. If you click on the BT link through quidco and topcashback it brings up the BT page with no reward card. Agree that last year you could do this - i did but now you can only have one or the other.
One thing to bear in mind about the reward card is to make sure you use all of the credit, there are no refunds or cashback from what I recall when I first used one a few years ago.

Don't know general case but I moved house, stopped BT BB as they couldn't supply the new address, and my BT mobile £5 discount wheels on, 6 months so far.

For what it's worth, the rep said something about the discount normally running for at least 2 months after stopping the BB regardless of reason for leaving.

You mean for not being a customer?
So, to confirm.. I could use the BT reward card to pay for the monthly charges of the Sim Only deal by adding the Reward card to my BT account? Sorry for the n00b question.

Correct - can 110% confirm this (some BT staff do not - I submitted terrible sms feedback when prompted & within hours a manager called back to apologise and confirm this - boy was I relieved).

Seems logical, best to ask on chat, be sure to keep a copy of the transcript as evidence should anything go wrong.

Agree, their agents are not the most clued up individuals, which is why I always keep copies of convos that can prove handy in the future

You get £5 off a month for being a BT customer not pay £5/month more

lol my mistake for not being a customer, as I am a bt customer but can't see myself renewing my contract so I will be stuck with paying the remainder of my contract with the extra £5 per month . it's a good deal but better to take out bt sim contract when getting new contract on bt broadband so both services run simultaneously .
as others have said i can confirm from having done this last time - if you leave BT broadband due to a price rise the discount on the mobile will continue. If you leave not because of a price rise the discount will be cut. Be aware though that BT do cut the discount straight away- like one of the previous posters said. However i needed to get a senior member of BT to deal with the issue to sort out the matter.

hey pal you stated "if you leave bt broadband due to price increase you can still receive the £5 monthly discount " if possible please can you advise us on how long the discount would continue , would it last the full original 12 months sim contract you signed up for and what happens to prices after the 12 months contract sim contract .

In my case left BT broadband in Feb and my discount continued until November when i ended my contract. Had i not done so then i believe it would've continued as a note had been left on my account. By the way this applied to the 3 BT contracts i had at the time.
