Is this any good. I know it’s better graphics card, but for just gaming???
Was looking at this laptop before at £700, £20 less now is tempting... The 1650 is faster than the 1050ti as I read, debate is which is the better cpu between the 3550h and 8300h

Yes, more or less.

Then a 1060 laptop like the one I linked would suit you better for gaming.

Thank you. I have a business that is automating spreadsheets and some clients use massive sheets (over 100mb) so I need it to handle this with ease. With regards to graphics I meant photoshop.

I have a dell xps17 which has served me very well but its 8 years old and starting to creak. I had looked at alienware area 51 but I dont want to spend more than £1500. I must have a 17inch screen though as programming on the move I need the screen space, but it can be a bulky laptop, I dont need it slim.

I tend to have excel, internet, email, pdf and photoshop open at the same time - just need it instant as currently it chugs for a few seconds.

I guess 32mb and an i9 would be the preference? I dont play games but like I say I do need the raw power for work.

The six-core i9 isn't worth it over the six-core i7, here's an article about it: notebookcheck.net/Our…tml

It sounds like you don't need a six-core processor, just a fast SSD and lots of RAM.

You could consider this: dell.com/en-…718

It's very bulky but that means the cooling is very good. You'll need to upgrade the RAM as it only comes with 8GB, and the price is £1195 with discount code DAILYMAIL8.
This is very kind of you to help - thank you. Would that pc effectively get me through the next 6 years of excel, photoshop and general internet? Also would a 4k screen be worth it? Mind you I do plan on using an ultrawide samsung And splitting the screen for day to day so maybe better putting the money there
