This is a long running deal with Tesco Clubcard, exchange tesco clubcard vouchers for airmiles at a rate of £2.50 in vouchers for 60 miles.

Just a heads up that this will be going down to 50 miles for £2.50 from 1st September! So if you have any vouchers stored up, get exchanging now, or you will miss out on some miles!

August vouchers should arrive prior to this deadline, so time to exchange them too, plew!

You exchange your CC vouchers for airmiles here...

tesco.com/clu…236

You will need 5000 airmiles for a return to Cario or Sharm, which is £208 in CC vouchers at the moment, will be £250 after the change of rate. That is flights with BA, inc luggage and taxes etc.

to redeem you should go to the armiles website which will tell you how many miles are needed to a location. for egypt i would expect 3 to 4000 miles, but website can confirm. Also worth commenting that you can not always get the day / time you want if the flight is already busy.

I would also like to point out that if you have 'ticked the box' so that your vouchers are automatically exchanged into airmiles, the rate may not change.

I have done this for years and still get 80 miles per 2.50 (the original exch rate) rather than the new lower rates. obviously cant guarantee this will happen this time, but fingers crossed.

are all deals going down or just the air miles ?????

thx for your help guys, its something i need to look in to as a mate has been buging me to go on holiday with cc vouchers as it works out cheap etc, but not when i have 50.00 cc vouchers lol

I have always found the airmiles not great "value for money", for example the £208 in CC vouchers to get your flight to Sharm would give you £832 in Virgin Holiday vouchers using rewards and that will get you a whole holiday to Egypt and some change no doubt!

you are right, airmiles only really come into their own if you can save up a decent amount to fly business or even first class.

if you go long haul, double the airmiles gives you a business flight ticket worth 5 to 10 times the price of the cheapest economy flight.

however this takes years. We manage to save enough about once every 4 years, but it does set you up for a really good holiday.

Tesco are pigs for reducing the airmiles amounts, but justify this by having double clubcard points - but not on Fuel! So you may earn some more on shopping, but less on other stuff.

I've earned a lot of airmiles from Tescos but a good proportion of them from petrol etc, so now will be getting far less!

You can convert C.C Vouchers to Virgin Holiday Vouchers? Im going ona Virgin Holiday next year and I have paid a deposit. How do I add the Vouchers to my Holiday?

Don't you have to use the vouchers at the time you book on Virgin Holidays? eg not applicable if you already have a booking? Also they won't allow any further discounts, so if people only have a small amount of cc vouchers then the 10% online discount may be more? I am thinking of using them for a Virgin holiday instead of Airmiles, but worried they may stop that while I am saving up.
They have a limit of £700pp now. Mind you I will never get enough cc vouchers to do that anyway!
Also Cosmos accept them when booking.

Yes, you have to have the Virgin vouchers at the time of booking and you are correct that no other discount apply. They do however still give you any promotions, such as early booking reductions / extra nights / room upgrades. I have been on two holidays using these and am about to book a 3rd. The £700 pp limit is not great as previous holiday I have paid in their entirety using vouchers

Its not just airmiles. Open Uni vouchers are now useless unless you are just starting out. Level 1 courses only. These vouchers are gradually decreasing in value. Have saved for 3 years for no reason other than OU so now going to blow it all on pub grub and cinema. lol
