waited almost 6 months for an upgrade deal to come up but no joy and sky wouldn't play ball on the phone....so bit the bullet and had it upgraded last week and now this comes up!! Oh well heat added anyway....

Managed to get two months HD and free delivery by calling them last week, that's annoying.

I've got a flyer through the post this week stating 3 months free HD, free set-up for a 12 month contract meaning £10.25 for 9 months I guess. So i'm saving 3x£10.25 + £15 set-up against this deal = £45.75. The £90 Quidco therefore seems to me like a good deal.

Just last month they were offering me the same, but 2 months free. Sky appear to be keen for non-HD customers to move to HD offering all kind of incentives. I expect before long you can move to HD completely free for 12 months, no set-up fee or other charges at all?

So looks olike a good deal, but interested to see what others views are before signing up.

Blimey, flamin' tempted now! I s'pose it's 12 months minimum contract?

...also, is it difficult to do the 'self set-up' option...it's only £15 as opposed to £60 if they come out and do it for you!

Excellent deal.

if you already have sky plus is it just a case of swapping the sky plus box with the sky hd box?

Self install is easy and just takes a few minutes with the instructions provided.
I upgraded just before XMAS and paid £15 for self install.

my housemate and i set up our SKY HD, its as easy as plugging in the HDMI, putting in your viewing card and following the instructions in the guide.

Very simlpe, and pretty much anyone can install the HD box. no point paying for extra installation if you already have SKY+.

Seems good.

Great deal, but I didn't think cashback deals were allowed (as it's not guaranteed)

Wish they'd do a deal on a multi room subscription...

i am on 1/2 price sky+ standard package for next 6 months will i be getting this offer

Good as HD is, the standard price of £10.25 extra a month is so not worth it it's hard to believe people taken in by it.

Honestly, if they offered you a bit better sound quality for another fiver would you take it?

do not depend on cashback

What HD Channels do you get for £10.25 a month?

Which is the preffered SKY HD box to have, can you ask for a particular brand over the phone?

thanks

excellent been waitning for a deal, will go nicely with me new tele.

Moral of the story, NEVER upgrade with Sky until it becomes totally unavoidable. I'll not be upgrading now beyond the Sky+HD that I've already got. Once bitten and all that.

Can anyone guarantee the cashback? would like to know!!

wont let me have it as says im waiting a delivery already??? What a croc...

Okay, I'm presuming that the minimum term is 12 months which means you'll be able to cancel your HD sub at the end, keeping the box and access to the few 'free' HD channels...is that correct?

...which would mean £4 per month including self install...not too shabby I s'pose...maybe in 12 months time they might scrap the £10.25 HD sub anyway?

...be interested to know if this works while you're still on a reduced rate, I'm on 25% off my sub until June??

so whats the set up fee to convert from Sky+ to Sky+ HD?
Do i need to have a new dish?

Nope, If you have a black HD Box, then it's just literally them activating the sky HD channels, just like any other subscription channel

Quidco are pretty good imo. But I would not say that CB is 100% gnteed.

i don't have a HD box i just have normal Sky+ (Silver box)

Hello all

Please can anyone give me a bona fide route to getting Sky half-price for 12 months? I am a brand new customer, never had it before. The post on here three days back proved to be a red herring - it was ONLY avail to those who had previously had Sky.

Thanks

I foolishly took up an offer on the HD box from them when i had the half price for 6 months sub for the World Cup last year... I had half price off total TV bill, including the HD when i took it on, BUT when my offer ran out it went back to full price with the HD sub included... I called Sky to see if i could get another deal but they said as i was in contract for 12months on the HD sub it was a big, fat NO! So be careful taking on anything like this while you have a 'deal' from them currently....

good post she will be making a fortune out ofthis each person that signs up via the link given the op gets £5 good on you

Then you need an HD Box, which is basically the standard box giving out to all new subscibers. Therefore this would be the deal for you

Not really as the OP is advising everyone to go via Quidco, which is what makes this offer lucrative!

Majnu

What HD Channels do you get for £10.25 a month?

You'll get BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD, Five HD, ITV 2, 3 & 4 HD, Sky Atlantic HD plus the HD versions of any channels that broadcast in HD in the channel packs you choose.

Thanks for that mate as I was wondering exactly that.

I've got 12m half price for virtually all the channels. I'm now 6 months through and won't keep that package when it goes back to full price in 6 months. So I did wonder if I got this deal what would happen and from what you said, basically i'd be screwed.

Sounds like a good deal to me...had another flyer today offering the free self instll and 2 months free, but the Quidco sounds better, and I've had over £1K back from Quidco deals, so they are pretty reliable in me experience.

Anyone know what spec box they'll provide (i.e. will it be the 1TB unit?)
