  • When: 8 December, 3.30 p.m.–7.30 p.m.
  • Event closing time is 11.59 p.m.
  • Where: Warner Bros, Studio Tour London, Leavesden

Once doors have closed to the public on 8th December, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter will welcome Groupon members for an exclusive Christmas event. Available for entry from 3.30pm, guests will be granted after-hours access to a tour which showcases authentic sets, props and costumes from the Harry Potter film series. All guests will receive a complimentary retail souvenir on arrival and the tour will stay open until midnight on these special nights.

For the first time ever, the Great Hall stage will be decorated as it was for the iconic Yule Ball. As seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the celebration of the Triwizard Tournament saw every detail of the Great Hall covered in shimmering silver, dripping icicles and sparkling snow. Groupon Members will get a taster of this incredible set dress as the top section of the Great Hall will be transformed with snow-covered Christmas trees, icicles and an orchestra of magical instruments. In addition to the Yule Ball decoration, The Great Hall will be lined with Christmas trees and the long dining tables of the Great Hall will be dressed as they were for seasonal feasts at Hogwarts with prop versions of roast turkeys, hams studded with cherries and even Christmas puddings surrounded by real flames.

As part of the Hogwarts in the Snow feature, many of the iconic sets housed at the Studio Tour will receive a festive makeover. The Gryffindor Common Room and Boys’ Dormitory will be decorated with the original props and the Hogwarts castle model will be transformed with a layer of filmmaking snow.

While exploring the attraction, guests will also be able to enjoy experiences that have been specifically added for Groupon members like enjoying a special demonstration courtesy of John Richardson, Special Effects Supervisor from the Harry Potter film series. They’ll get the chance to learn wand moves and can ‘fly’ a broomstick like a member of the cast in the Studio Tour’s green screen experience

During a short break in the attraction’s Backlot Cafe, guests will be able to enjoy a selected hot meal; a glass of wine, beer, hot or soft drink; and a Butterbeer™ served in a souvenir cup to take home! They’ll also get the chance to meet the Death Eaters in the shadows of Diagon Alley before being completely enchanted by the vision of a snowy Hogwarts Castle, especially created for the festive period.

This looks brilliant, any advice or recommendations on times etc?

Is the family rooms able to sleep 5 in any of them two listed?

I just checked & you would have to pay for two rooms if your family is bigger than four, also the tour starts at 3:30pm, BUT the check in time at the hotel is 3pm, so you would have to pay an extra £10 for early check in, which lets you check in from 12 noon.

The tour doesn't have to start at 3.30. It starts at various times between 3.30 and 7.30, so you could check in at 3.00 or after and head to a later tour.

Just FYI all, I tried plugging in "NEW20" and it gave me "20% off".
However it only adds up to 10% when buying 2 tickets? But confusing, but it still results in a better discount than using NEW15.

2xTickets @ £98.00
Discount (NEW20) @ -£9.80
Total £88.20

(Conversely with "NEW15" for 2x tickets, it gives me a £7.35 discount resulting in £90.65)
In hindsight, it might better to create two "new" accounts and buy them separately. Oh well

Just tested NEW10 on a new account - reduced to £39, does that work for you as well?

1) Double checked. The "NEW10" code (for £10 off) didn't work with the harry potter tour.
2) The "NEW20" (and indeed the NEW15) code only applies 20% (or 15%) off to ONE ticket (i.e. I got 20% off only the first of 2 tickets purchased)
As such, if you wanna be thrifty (like me), use the NEW20 code on 2 separate accounts.
3) I complained to Groupon and they applied a £10 voucher to my account. So that'll do me for now!

Votes hot as it looks fantastic, i just dont fancy traipsing round london with 2 youngsters.

It's a shame they don't have something like this in Yorkshire

Just need to find the nearest Hilton as i have points for a family room!!

Has anyone had problems with the 3:30 slot? I ordered one ticket on my account (which went through) and tried to order another for my husband on his (new) account but it says the order cannot be completed! Should have just bought both at the outset 😩

Yep needed 3. Called Groupon but was told only way was to use 2 accounts. So I did find an old account and purchased across 2. They also mentioned that if I purchased on my account I could buy the same deal again?? But t&c states max 10 per customer

It doesn't say the slot is full, just that the order cannot be completed! I spoke to Groupon who said to try again in 6 hours, I'm.just worried the slot might sellout- if it's not already!

Thanks just bought with another account. Annoying because I was on live chat but the person on there didnt have a clue. When I had purchased the first and logged back into the same account it wouldnt let me buy another.

Not sure if you're really serious, but you don't have to trapse around London as it's not in London. Since its at the actual studios that were used, it kinda justifies it not being in Yorkshire.

Has anyone had their order confirmed? Mine just said pending earlier and now its disappeared from my account with no email confirmation or anything, a little concerned as first time using this site.

Hello! I've managed to get 1 ticket for £41 with code EXTRA15 - for existing accounts. I needed 2 tickets so I bought 1 ticket from 2 different existing accounts for the same time slot - > if you add 2 tickets to your basket and add the code it will give you only the discount for 1 ticket, bringing the price to about £90 for 2 tickets.

Where did you complain to? I had the same problem, placed the order anyway and went on live chat afterwards.. I got a very rude advisor who basically repeatedly asked where I got the code "NEW20" from as it is only "NEW15" that they have, asked for a screenshot of the code stating the terms and then said oh its applied 20% to your first voucher so NEW20 is working fine, is there anything else I can help you with? Gave up and ended the chat

It's pretty far out of 'London' but I guess it depends where you're coming from.

Does anyone know how long the tour lasts?

I’ve tried adding NEW20 or NEW15 but it won’t do anything?! Just says “check the rules”. Any advice on what I’m doing wrong 😥

Live chat. Also had a pretty rude CS agent, but since he started it by being curt I went into full "I'm not happy blah blah blah" mode. It didn't take much really. I stated that the conditions of the discount weren't explained on the purchase page (because apparently the conditions are on the FAQ) and that I could have used my partner's account to buy a second ticket for the full discount and that what they're doing is a "scam".

I'm not proud of it. But I got my tenner. I guess I'll spend that saving on one keyring at the HP tour.

Quidco have £10 payday bonus today + 7% could be a little extra(y)

Top of Yorkshire (nr Sheffield), and without a car it might as well be a million miles away, still a hot deal though

Be careful ordering from different accounts!
I needed 3 tickets so ordered from 3 separate accounts. All 3 were successful and I received email confirmation and was able to click on the vouchers and print them off. I wasn't able to print there and then, logged into the accounts to print them off today and 2 had disappeared!! Leaving me with 1 ticket and the slot being sold out. So now I am left with 1 non-refundable ticket. Very unhelpful staff!!

You can get a family ticket for £118 for 2 kids and 2 adults off the official website
So why would you buy this?
Ok you dont get the Souvenir and Butterbeer but its an £80 saving over the groupon deal
