Once doors have closed to the public on Thursday 14th December and Friday 1st and 15th December, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter will welcome Groupon members for an exclusive event. Available for entry from 3.30 pm, guests will be granted after-hours access to the Studio Tour, which showcases authentic sets, props and costumes from the Harry Potter film series.

Guests can walk the flagstones of the iconic Hogwarts Great Hall in all its glory before viewing many of the famous sets, including the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore’s office, and the Gryffindor common room. Visitors will also get an exclusive look at the new permanent expansion – The Forbidden Forest which opened on 31 March.

The Forbidden Forest may be strictly off-limits to Hogwarts students, but Groupon guests are invited to follow the footsteps of Harry, Ron and Hermione deep into the forest, which is home to an abundance of creatures.

Adventurers will be welcomed through the Hogwarts Gates by the beloved half-giant Hagrid deep into the forest which is filled with 19 trees each with a diameter of over 12 feet.

Visitors will walk beneath the giant entwined roots and will encounter a full size model of Buckbeak, which is new to the tour, and have the opportunity to bow to the majestic creature. As Groupon guests venture deeper into the depths of the forest, they will come face-to-face with Aragog, the Acromantula. Emerging from his dark lair, the enormous spider will appear before guests along with spiderlings from his family.

While exploring the attractions, attendees will also be able to enjoy experiences that have been specifically added for Groupon members like the special effect demonstration courtesy of Oscar®-winning Special Effects Supervisor John Richardson, from the Harry Potter film series. They’ll get the chance to learn wand moves and can ‘fly’ a broomstick like a member of the cast in the Studio Tour’s green screen experience.

During a short break in the attraction’s Backlot Cafe, guests will be able to enjoy a selected hot meal; a glass of wine, beer, hot or soft drink; and a Butterbeer™ served in a souvenir cup to take home. They’ll also get the chance to meet the Death Eaters as they patrol the Hogwarts Gates. All guests will receive a complimentary Forbidden Forest edition of the souvenir guidebook on arrival and the tour will stay open until midnight on these special nights. On-site parking is available, as is a return shuttle bus from Watford Junction station if required.

Validity: Valid for date and time specified on Groupon only.
Purchase: Limit 10 per person. May buy 10 additional as gifts.

I wonder how this is compared to normal entry, I hope everything isn't switched off and it be like walking in an abandoned studio?

no it won't be, they make a real event of it, my friend went on one when the Hogwarts Express was new & they said it was excellent
How many where there? Surely this will be as busy as a normal day. If not more
I wasn't majorly impressed when I went at the end of 2014. They didn't have the Forbidden Forrest then. I absolutely love Harry Potter but I just wasn't feeling the love when I went. I wasn't impressed. BUT, saying that, I do wanna check out the forbidden forrest.
i suppose it's worth seeing at least once in your life.
Also, there was no cafe at the end of the tour then (which I didn't know about) and I missed my chance to try the butterbeer. Massive shame.
Link does not work

I meant as in the shuttle bus from Baker Street..
I went to this yesterday, it's great! the shop is expensive and the butter beer is creamsoda like. The experience was great.
Butterbear is cream soda with a bit of butterscotch syrup and then some whipped cream ontop. It is okay, and worth trying if you like that.

Its all massiely expensive and they are constantly trying to empty your pockets. With videos and photos of the broomstick and train "experiences" you can easily spend two or three times the entry price. Plus the food was overpriced and crap! Dont get me wrong, its a great experience, but I just think that they are being greedy
So is this just entry or do you get complimentary food or drink?
Man I really want to go to this but nobody wants to go with me :'( bit silly to go on my lonesome...

oh well, voted hot anyway

As per the title & OP, you get entry, a hot meal & glass of wine/beer/soda, Butterbeer in a souvenir cup & a free souvenir guide book + a special guest + exclusive events
my kids went yesterday too and said it was worth every penny!
I went to a Closed Doors event last Christmas and they allocated time slots for the tours so it was never packed out, even tho the car park was full. It was 100% worth it and we'll go again this year.
Be warned. There are 2 expensive elements that you can get sucked into: There are more than a few staged photo areas where you have an opportunity to dress up and ride a broom or pose with a group of wizards. These were quite a few ££s so as a group we decided on the Hogwarts Express picture and split the cost (you get an electronic copy to share on social media or get copies printed).
This is easily a full day's outing, enough content to spend two days there for a Harry Potter fan, yet alone one day.
Thanks I'm going there with my colleagues lol
How long does the tour usually take?
Thanks, that's the missus birthday sorted!

Not sure what the closed door thing is, but on a standard day It's not escorted. You are free to browse and see the different sections and displays at your leisure. Check with the website though which days you go on, because sometimes they do special events; for example when we went it was 'meet the animals from (starring in) Harry Potter' and that one did have key times as an event.

Wasn't sure if you had to pay extra when you're there as people were saying how expensive it was when your inside.
How much time do you get?
I am planning train tickets and if I book 4pm, what time would it finish at?
Thanks
Ordered two tickets, thanks!

Any weird photography rules?
If you use DEAL10 promo code you get it for £39 per person if you use two different groupon accounts. Don't know when the code ends but seems to work now.

You get until closing time, 11:59 I believe. It took me about three hours to get around, on a fairly busy day.
I'm glad they're closing the doors, it's bloody breezy at the moment!
I went to this event last year and had a great time! Would love to see the Forbidden Forest but perhaps i'll go next year.
Will it be Christmas decorated?
Was in basket ready to go, I came out of the app and back in then got an error message when I tried to complete. Now won't accept code
Cheers OP

Just bagged 4 for 15th. Not expecting much from the 'meal' but looking forward to the rest of the experience ...

By the way DEAL10 code is not working on this offer.
Went to the Studio Tour a couple of weeks ago, for the second time. Loved it again, but the Forbidden Forest was a massive disappointment - like a cheap ghost train ride at a second rate funfair. The rest of it is as good as ever, and the Butterbeer is lovely (but £4 for what is a small glass of pop is just taking the pee).
Don't forget TCB guys
Great deal! Used the code NOW15 for up to 15% as I was a new Groupon member. Bought 2 tickets £90!
Heat
Bought 4 tickets on two accounts, used NEW15 got £7.35 off of each making it about £45 a ticket. If you really wanted you could make 1 account per ticket and it would be £41.65 per ticket!

I think this is classed as a "local deal" but I would not consider myself anywhere near local to leavesdon

There are loads of people booked onto this, so it won't feel like it's behind closed doors at all!
