I've been with o2 since the first iPhone came out. My personal experience has been good.
I've made use of Priority moments regularly as well as used my plan abroad (USA)
O2 had offered me this deal for £29 a month, however via Uswitch I've managed to get it for £20.

I just did an online chat with O2. Asked them for my PAC code straight away as I cannot get the uSwitch deal being a current customer of £20 for 50gb. Told them I’m going to go to Three or Vodafone as they do £20 for 100gb. The rep said as I’m a loyal customer they will do 90Gb for 12 months for £20 (40gb tariff and 50gb top up)

Quidco pay £60-70 for Three SIMO deals, meaning a monthly price of around £15 a month when you factor in cashack..I also find the data speeds on the O2 network very sub-par for a 4G network, as I have a Gift Gaff sim and many times only get 2-4 mb speeds on 4G when on maximum signal. Where with Three on 4G rarely get 4G speeds under 30mb.Also Three give you far better international coverage included in your price plan, when this O2 deal only gives EU coverage.

Signal is pretty subjective. But you can't compare a sub par NVMO to the actual provider. Giff gaff are known to be pish. ( I tested it last year for my daughter, didn't continue after 2 days)
Anyway, my take on O2. - I travel about for work. Last week and a half had the O2 sim in the phone along side my EE max plan one.
Speed - for headline speed you can't match EE. 300/50 versus 190/40 in Edinburgh Centre for me.
My average on both is pretty similar though, at about 30/10. Unless downloading an iso etc, which I do on occasion, it's pretty irrelevant.
Signal - across the country I have had signal more on O2. Only downside is Volte in less places with no way to know if you have it as the icon is turned off at the network end. WiFi calling works great on both.
Swapped to O2 as I was getting zero signal in my house, street and very patchy signal throughout my village. Which had got worse over time.
Now have no issues on O2.

Balls, just took out the 25gb for same price. ( albeit 4 months foc). Wonder if they will change me over.
Was literally looking to upgrade my data, gone from 20gb to 50gb for the same price! Great timing, Thanks! 👌

I tried to contact o2 directly to transfer to this talk plan and they couldn’t do it. I had to do it through uswitch.
Hope it works for you too 🏼

O2 now also give international coverage similar to 3.

OK thanks for that...
If you click on the link to this deal, just says EU coverage and if you want further roaming to by an O2 roaming pass.
Most networks seems to offer two levels of roaming, the basic plans with just EU coverage and a more premium plan with greater international coverage.
thanks , been waiting for a a decent data package on O2
can see the mast from the window , excellent speeds much better than the landline broadband
time to get rid of the overpriced line rental
A little personal experience from someone south London. O2 has good coverage (including indoors) and feels responsive.. if that makes sense.

Loved EE, but never hit their high end speeds (maybe if I live Wembley I would have) and coverage indoors was slightly less than O2.

But I'm now into the world of Voda 100gb. Coverage seems solid so far. 100gb is too much for general usage. Even Spotify and a little YouTube on the go.

So this deal gets a thumbs up from me

...you cannot compare 4G speeds between "a proper" access to networks as O2, 3, EE, and Vodafone via direct contracts with piggybacking ones such as GG, Smarty, PlusNet/Virgin & Voxi, as they will always be throttled down by former

It's included in my deal.. but just saw that it isn't included in all deals

Discount of £9 for 12 months only.

After 12 months it'll change to £29 a month. Still not bad.

Think the Vodafone one for 100gig at 20£ seems more appealing , had nothing but issues with signal in the Southampton area

Giffgaff data is supposedly quite heavily throttled back compared to even O2 pay as you go, and the price advantage ain't so good anymore either at least for infrequent users like me. (I think the general pecking order at carriers is business customers, then contract, then pay-as-you-go, with users of MVNOs like Giffgaff on the bottom and getting the scraps, though this may vary.)

Oh thanks for mentioning that, just onto livechat with them and got offered the same thing.

i tried seeing if they could improve on this offer as a new customer and the best O2 can do is 3 months free when the tarrif is £29

87 saved rather than 108
Vodafone have 100GB sim only for £20
O2 is awfull in the Wigan area and as been for awhile now lucky if I get 5 or 6 meg download most of the time not alot of point in having loads of data if the 4g speed is rubbish
About 12 days ago I upgraded to their £20 per month for 25gb data offer. Having just spoken to o2 they couldn’t match this deal but said they could do 100gb data for £24 a month. Whilst on the phone with o2 I went through uswitch and it automatically adjusted my tariff without me having to do anything so I am now on £20 a month with unlimited mins, texts and 50gb data. Perfect! As it uswitch takes you to o2 the website automatically detects your o2 details and just click through the options. I didn’t need new seem so it’s all done for me. Good luck. Hope this helps others.
I don’t even need 90GB but happy to get a “freebie” on top of the 50GB using live chat thanks OP, cracking deal for o2 as they are pretty rare!

How did you do that on uswitch.? Cheers,
Speed???
Online chat does work. Got 90GB data.. thanks to all who shared it.
After sharing the deal and being overjoyed that I got 50gb for £20 a month.
I wish all of you who have managed to get 90gb would stop gloating

Sorry mate, I was about to sign for the 40GB and thought I would check once more.....got lucky with the extra bolt on.....then tonight have signed up my wife for the same deal thanks for posting as is definitely the best o2 deal for years!
Very nice deal!!
I already had 20gb for £20 but to boost up to 50GB for a year I’m very happy with that. Thanks uswitch.
Is this an upgrade or can I get the deal as a new customer?
Tried twice but after I enter my payment details & get to the review screen, it takes me to an upgrade page and shows the message, "You have no numbers or accounts to upgrade"
Live chat couldn't find any record of my orders

This is for new customers.

However, some have said that even existing customers can upgrade to this by logging in at the time of purchase. - though I can't say for sure as I went for the 90gb retention deal instead.

Hi, I managed to get it as an existing customer and got it for my daughter as a new customer.
Thanks for the replies. Managed to get it ordered, then confirmed with live chat
I only ordered my 25gb sim 3 weeks ago to solve signal issues at home. So a week past my 14 days return window. Upgraded to this no probs via link.

They offer great customer service and always matched better deals in between contracts
I am on same deals but got it out when double data offer was on data so I am getting 100gb at the moment instead of 50gb

Expired 😬
Live chat with O2 offered a 3 month discount over 18 months which gave £23.33 per month for 50gb and UL text/calls. Continuing at £28.99 pm thereafter. I declined
