I’d rather spend £20 on their unlimited data deal which is open from 9am this morning. Also, Virgin doesn’t charge customer LATE PAYMENT fees unlike other network providers. So it won’t effect your credit rating if you’re late.

If you can’t pay £20 at the end of the month when you know it’s due and you owe, you should have your credit rating effected!
It’s called budgeting!

Wish this was unlimited data or at least not a new contract! 3's coverage sucks and one day I'll just leave for EE for even a 15gb plan.

damm unbelievable price
Am paying £23 for the same plan.

You won’t get any Quidco or TCB on an existing customer plan.

To get Quidco / Topcashback you would need to buy as a new customer.

I may get this, then try and find the cheapest possible Nokia 8 deal

Will this just change my current contract or would I be signing up to a new one with a new sim?

Comes up as £20 even when logged in?

How do you get this plan?

I presume this is a 12m plan?

Wish this was unlimited data or at least not a new contract! 3's coverage sucks and one day I'll just leave for EE for even a 15gb plan.

I have unlimited at £20 a month but only use about 35Gb a month, I might save myself a couple of pound a month on this offer.

Any tethering?

It's an Advanced plan so yeah

12 month Advanced Plan
All-you-can-eat
minutes.
All-you-can-eat
texts.
30GB Personal Hotspot
Feel At Home Around the World
Go Binge

£20 for the 1st SIM you run with 100gb and a £2 discount is applied for any additional sim giving 100gb £18. Nothing stopping you taking a new SIM at £18 and moving your number to PAYG then moving it back to the £18 sim deal. Ask on store for a 30 day delay on the new SIM so your not paying 2 line rentals whilst your 30 day notice expires on your existing account.

If you log into your my three the offer is already live.

just click on "exclusive offers" and you will see the sim

It has 30GB hotspot allowance, so yep tethering included. This offer appears to be a extra line offer, ie... U are getting the discount as an existing customer for an extra line activation. When u place it in the basket it asks u to provide you current 3UK number, thus some peeps seeing the £20 offer on home screen.

I clicked the link. Added to basket. Input mobile number in box. Comes up at £18 for me.

It used to be unlimited but they changed that tariff and forced everyone to change or leave. Granted they don't always have the best coverage but it's good enough for me x

Yes, that’s the principle reason I’m with 3

Of course when taking a contract out we all intend to analyse wether we can afford it or not. Then we pay as usual. But if for whatever reason you’re not able to pay, [in an emergency situation for example] then companies shouldn’t oppress you by charging you for your difficult time. Instead companies like virgin give you a month and then suspend services as a last resort. All this won’t effect your rating. The only thing that will, is the termination of your contract which is fair enough.

Does this mean I continue to pay for my current line, and they offer me a second at this discounted rate?

If so, I'm not sure how many people need two numbers??

I was with Three. I found their coverage was consistent but not always the fastest. I’m currently with EE and it’s the opposite - inconsistent data connection but when it works, it’s fast. I live and work in London and thinking of switching back to Three as I’m a little fed up of having ‘buffer face’ (as Kevin Bacon would say).

Still not clear to me if this recontracts, or is for an additional sim

How did you get that!?

Could you put this sim in a MiFi or HomeFi router, to use it for home broadband? Or do they detect that as tethering?

I'm sure Virgin Mobile sims are limited to 30mbps (I'm not 100% sure though) and there's restrictions on EE's network I.E VoLTE and WiFi-Calling unless you buy from them directly.

Regardless of those issues its still a fantastic offer as even with 30mbps it's still a more stable network than Three UK.

EE charge a premium for faster speeds I.E 4GEE and 4GEE Max Plans.

That's the package I've got! Only issue is I keep going above my minutes allowance

I get around 40Mbps on my Virgin SIM. The standard 4GEE is up to 60Mbps on EE but if it’s capped to 40Mbps it’s still fast enough for most people.

That's what I did (moved to Vodafone). I had unlimited at £18 but I couldn't use almost any data because I had no coverage in any building.

Late payment on a SIM only deal that's 20 quid? Really? Doesn't everyone just set it up as a direct debit and leave it...

Virgin sucks. Tried it last year. It was like going back in time to 2003. Worst data experience of all networks I've used.

The easy way to avoid late payment fees is to pay on time. Direct debit is a good option.

Good deal from Three op. Heat.

I upgraded sim only since 2015 and never upgrade after 12months. Hotspot have limited MB, I can't remember how many MB. Mifi never tried but my plan does not fit.
I am happy with unlimited data but always lose signal in centre which many people using mobile. Speed is fine, less or up with different locations.

Yes it’s direct debit. But my point is in an emergency situation where you’re unable to pay the bill for a month or two due to say unemployment etc, they won’t charge you a late payment fee unlike three, EE, Voda, o2 and others.

Why on earth would you need more than 100gb on a phone contract?

Even if they do, with Virgin you can downgrade or upgrade your plan ONCE a month on their 12 month SIM only contracts. The data rollover also helps as you can switch to a cheaper plan in the month that you’ve rolled over data. Save money overall.
