cold standard prices - i pay £25 for fibre with line rental inc
Makes it the same price as Vodafone for 38mb but you get a "gift" which is a minimum of £75 pre-paid card. Good deal and heat if you like all services with one provider and nice to get something cheaper than retail
Are SLY still adding a sneaky extra £5 to your bill if you dont take TV from them?
Its only Virgin Fibre that offers real fast speeds...youn still get regular rubbish service through their call centres though
I still can't believe people are voting cold. Wouldn't know a good deal if it slapped then in the face

You stuck in the Stone Age?!
They scrapped that a while ago.
The only supplement you pay is £5 if you have a partial churned service.
Total price inc line rental is £25.98 inc line rental for unlimited fibre - it's a good deal
Asking for one off payment of £99 for sky q hub?
I pay 24.99 for fibre 40mb and phone. It's pretty much the standard price.

Ultra fibre optic from sky and talk talk offer 1000 in speed. Pure fibre. In York and other trial cities. For only £22 including line rental. That's much faster and cheaper than virgin
Got 40M fibre and line rental for £18.99 pm. After alot off rubbish offers at renewal time. Nearly went to vodafone with the nice free gift that was on offer. But happy to stay with sky for another 12 months.
Why does it add a sky q box to the order at £99
In a week or so, my one year contract with Sky will be up and I'm looking for a cheaper deal now, especially as my older son has now moved out. I'm currently paying £62.24 a month - £32 for Variety TV (Sky+HD box) and £30.24 for Broadband and Talk (Sky Fibre Unlimited). It's my first year with Sky, so have never tried to get a cheaper deal with them - does anybody know how much this will increase to after the year is up? Are they any good at offering a cheaper deal if you say that you don't want to stay with them? Thank you.
(To krizw above). When you said you were going to leave are you saying that they only decided to charge you for the line rental and not pay anything at all for the 40 M fibre? If they did the same for me, I'd make a saving of £10, so £52.24 a month instead of £62.24, however, I'd really like to get the monthly cost down a bit more, does anybody have any other suggestions? Thank you.
I am with Virgin and got XL TV, 200M BB, International dialing, unlimited phone calls, multi room, sports inc BT Sport

£89 and its going up to £105.00

Think its time to review as prices creeping too high
This offer isnt coming up on mine. Ive been with sky for 3 years so far. Its trying to charge me full price plus £60 for installation
Sophiasky, cancel SKY, no matter what they offer you. You will then get a call in a few days from retention offering you a much better deal to stay with them! I've done it a few times now. Check out the forums to see what your likely to get. Worst case and they don't phone you back, you've got 30 days to change your mind.
Just left sky after 3 years of fibre, more than happy with thier service but trying to get a new deal to match what vodafone has to offer was next to impossible.
Sky regular broadband unlimited at 17 Mbps has contention ratio of 38 to 1 (that is 38 customers to 1 cable/server)

Where as:

Sky Fibre Unlimited 38 Mbps and above has contention ratio of 20 to 1. (that is 20 customers to 1 cable/server)

Most of the cheaper providers have higher contention ratio of 50 to 1 or higher but try to get the data isn't easy.

Vodafone, EE, Plusnet, BT, SSE, etc. Comparing on price is OK if you are comparing apples with apples & oranges with oranges. But until all the play tell the whole story it may be the tale of the blind leading the blind.

As for Virgin Fibre some parts of Barnsley are only get only 4-6 Mbps at peak times on a 100 Mbps line because of over subscribing. (According to the BBC's Watchdog program about 6-8 weeks ago) vast over sell in some parts of the UK with low investment in infrastructure ie more cabinets with more connections.

Sofia, have a read through the last few pages on the thread below, you should be able to get around 50% off your TV without too much trouble and I would be surprised if you end up paying more than £40 a month, probably less. Once you've read through, I would suggest calling them, live chat is almost impossible to get through

hotukdeals.com/dis…985
Just spoke to them and wasn't offer this deal, asked to cancel and they have cancelled my broadband as of tomorrow!
I have just read the comments about trying to get the 75% off, but just a bit worried that it will backfire on me - ie, I wait up to 3 weeks after cancelling, and then get sent no offer for 75% off or if I call, they refuse the 75%. Can't go for a break with the internet as I need it for my work. Does anybody think that the 75% off offer would be given to me? Thank you.

The fibre was 1/2 price, so £10. The line rental was just reduced to £8.99. Be bold, they want your money, you have more leverage over them. Just keep telling them you will move provider, until your happy with the price.
Ok, thank you for the advice.

Here's what I currently pay for unlimited broadband.
Does this give you any idea what I would pay if I'm eligible for discounts for the fibre?

I cancelled mine back in August - Sky TV and Fibre bundle.

They then began ringing me constantly. When I spoke to them they only wanted to sell me a TV package. I told them that I wanted a fibre deal as, as lots of their TV comes via broadband, what was the point of TV without fibre.

They point blank refused to discuss a fibre claiming that it was another department.

Non one has ever rung me from Sky about extending my fibre deal - I currently get my BT line rental included in the costs.

I got the distinct impression that they want to sign me up to a new TV package and then try to screw me for a high broadband cost that would also include paying a BT line rental.

Or shoud I ring them up and try haggling? Or is it not worht it? Never dealth with Sky before but they seem to be very inflexible considering the competition these days.
