As an existing sky customer of the variety bundle + sport + movies + HD

In the my account page i was given an option to cancel HD, when going through the pages (much like the movies option 6 months ago) i was given the opportunity to have HD for half price for 6 months. Taking what will be the new HD price of £11.25 down by 50%

Only a saving over £5.63 but at least it offsets the price increase for a few months

When going through the cancel process on the 2nd page hovering over the cancel button you will see that the link is going to take you to an offers page if you want to be sure

Likewise summerof76, dont bother with the live chat people though to make any changes they get you to phone

advice...cancel and follow through...you then enter the one month notice period...during that period you will be contacted by the dept that does not want to lose you as a customer...

Thanks for that heat added

Sweet fudge all. I always say, everyone at sky needs to be paraded into the street, and shot.

phoned said I wanted to cancel due to increasing cost, put straight through to retentions.
asked why leaving and they tried to talk me in to down grading channel line up. said if I was staying wanted same package but cheaper than I pay.
offered £6 a month off, said no just cancel.
put on hold for 2mins, then offered £15 a month off. so variety hd pack for £23 a month, did have to agree to a 12mth contract. still a saving of £180 in year.

Hit cold as deals not hotting up sorry

currently pay £33pm for the full sky package.... gave them 30days notice and was offered 50% off for the year with no contract.

cancel and follow through? that's a bit messy

Can not believe how the charge still for privilege of HD

I'm on the same, didn't have to haggle or wait for them to call back. Just called to cancel and was offered it straight away

People are obviously not following through with cancelling, they have to believe you are going to cancel. Who blinks first? I have had 50% off for three years in a row on a full HD package with movies and sports.

I will be calling sky paying £33 a month for family package and box sets also get £7.50 unlimited broadband and £16.40 line rental + £5 for unlimited calls =£61.90 but I'm always more I'm calling them later I'll put hot as it is a hot deal
Works out

Sky, Virgin etc is all luxury items. They are all around the same price. If you don't want to pay the price then don't have it. It creates jobs for people & when company's offer discounts all the time eventually something has to give which ends up being job cuts in these businesses. Think its greedy people wanting offers all the time when there are people who r happy to pay for the luxury services. Dont get me wrong I do love an offer however I would never expect to get offers all the time I'm happy to pay for my services & if I've not had a good deal for a while then I would call up & ask due to being loyal. Don't think people realise the full extent when company's try to keep customer & therefore have to make cuts its people's jobs. Company's should only reward loyal customers who also don't default on their monthly payments.

Have you been to a cinema recently? Sky is way better value as you have it all the time and no annoying folk eating popcorn lol but there all luxury why not ban TV and save everyone the license fee to

If you stick to your guns and let it cancel they will be in touch within a fortnight, I pay £23 for family and sports Hd on a rolling contract and they also gave me a £100 credit

Ive had 50% for years, only ever paid full price for the 1st year

Had my £28 a month subscription and threaten to leave to which they then reduced to £13.75 for 10 months, but supposedly with a 12 month contract, which I pushed them to have on my file as being exempted (i.e. equivalent to no 12 month commitment, as their way to get around the system)

I pay £43 have full package and a multi room box, had 50% discount for the last 3 years I've got to call them next week as I'm out of contract then and won't be paying the full price
