Great price (although they've been around £100 for the last 15 years or more!).I still can't quite get used to buying items like this from supermarkets, having worked in both independent and multiple retailers of consumer electronics, and later white goods, but that's competition, and price seems more important than service or anything else now, so even I purchased my current washing machine via Asda, and I couldn't fault the delivery.

You may not be familiar with the brand White Knight, part of Crosslee PLC, but it's an independent british made tumble dryer, and they last for years, as long as you don't overload them (I used to sell them, and had one myself, lasted about 10 years), as there is very little to go wrong, unlike washing machines. So if this capacity fits your needs, don't spend more on a bigger brand name, unless you need a condensing machine.

My White Knight Dryer went wrong twice in the guarantee period and then about 2 months after the warranty ran out. It was spinning but there was no heat at all, it doesn't even spin now.

Dumped it and got a different brand one and so far so good. Maybe I was just unlucky?

Energy consumption 1.86kWh/cycle

Estimated annual energy consumption 289kWh/year

From an Eco point of view just pointing out that this uses about 289KWh/Year, say £45 in Electricity and their is the metered water that it will also use.

I'd have to say yes, I think you was unlucky, over the 4 years I sold white goods in volume, these gave the least problems compared to any of the other brands (based on customer requested callouts), and that included...
Zanussi/TricityBendix/Electrolux,Whirlpool/Ignis,Creda/Hotpoint,Bosch, and Indesit
Then again as I say, tumble dryers generally are one of the more reliable major appliances, simply because there isn't much to them. The most common problem on a tumble dryer is usually either the thermostat or heater element, which is what happened to mine in the end.The other thing that makes them more reliable is the fact that basically the way they are made, and there general design hasn't changed.Washing Machines on the other hand, are constantly redesigned, creating a whole new set of bugs and faults for customers to discover.
