Now £52.99.

I have been looking for an android box for a while.

My selection criteria were strongly influenced by the feedback from HUKD users:

1. Decent amount of RAM - 2GB

2. Decent amount of internal storage - 16GB

3. Good processor - S905 CPU

4. Reputable seller - fulfilled by Amazon

5. Did not want to break the bank - £49.99

I know it is not the cheapest box out there. You can possibly get a cheaper one from Aliexpress or Gearbest. I have never bought from them. I do not intend to disrespect or snob anyone, so I apologise in advance, but some of the reviews do not reassure me.

If anything, I would love to hear your feedback on this box.

i would like to hear everyones view on these never used them before

cant comment on that particular box but I bought a BeeLink MXIII from ebay for £21 and it does everything I could want....Not sure why you'd spend £50 for the pleasure

i wonder, is that a standard SSD that you could upgrade?

All my work mates use them. They are not tech savvy but they love them. I love my NowTV boxes but find them restrictive (no Netflix or Amazon Prime Videos). At least with this one, I'll be able to browse online or do loads of stuff I do on a tablet. I aleeady have a mini keyboard. I have been told it is a must for one of these for easy navigation.

Cheers for the feedback. Did it have the same specs (RAM, ROM, OS, CPU, etc...)? I can still cancel my order with Amazon if you have a link.

It's onboard flash memory, not SSD. You can add storage with an SD card though.

Cheers, should I amend the title then? I know that you can add a micro SD card or put in a USB storage device. I have looked at bigger than 16GB but prices were ridiculous.

Yes, the specs are the same. 2GB RAM, S905 SOC, 16GB ROM just much cheaper.

This is the model I got...but I paid £22 on an auction where I was the only bid

S905
2Gb
16GB
4K playback

Looks to be identical to what you've posted but much cheaper even at the listed price

Bit of an enthuiasts box, no where near as easy as a feeview/sky/virgin box... sometimes laggy and unresponsive, may need a reboot now and then, however all info on operating and updating these types of boxes on zootube...

Cheers for that. I really appreciate it. I will give it a pass though as the ebay one is shipped from China. I know that buying from Amazon is around 67% more expensive but I have been sting in the past. When dealing with Amazon, at least I have always recovered my money with minimum fuss and very quickly. This was not the case with ebay...

Dont get me wrong Amazon is obviously super safe...unless you get a shoddy marketplace seller, but buying from Ebay and paying with paypal, you are totally safe....that being said everything ive EVER ordered from chinese sellers has worked and never any issues.

Also worth noting that the box you are buying is also coming from China...so Amazon have probably paid £15 for these considering the bulk they have purchased.

I'm confused how you've been stung before if you have paid with Paypal...as you are always fully covered.

That being said if you are happy paying well over the odds for basically the same tech, then you can of course do so..on the plus side if you have prime you could have it tomorrow

I do agree, must admit it was down at £21 when I had a punt. Yours looks good though!

I bought this Q Box which comes with 2 remotes for £50.50

also the description is confusing...it mentions you can receive Freeview HD channels but I cannot see an input on the box for a TV aerial.

I thought that BBC iPlayer was legal which allows you to stream live TV. Same for ITV player. NowTV app definitely allows you to stream UK TV but you have to pay.

ITV player and BBC Iplayer are of course free and work fine (In the UK) BUT you cant RECEIVE (the important word here) all Freeview channels...you can stream a handful if they have catchup and live watch services.

Just find it odd to have that point in the description. If it had had a Freeview tuner in it as well I could almost justify the price...but it cant with out a an aerial input

I completely agree with you. When I wanted to return the item, they stung me with postage on one occasion. Paypal was not helpful. I might however go for OdhranC's suggestion of the Q box.

Anybody seen a good one with decent 5ghz wifi?

Can anyone tell me what apps would be best for this?

Interesting comment there?, why you prefer Rockchip Chips over that of S905 out of interest? (I'm intrigued?), do you have any links stipulating any Pro's or Con's of either?, thanx.

I bought this a few months back (but for more money than this at the time):

Beelink X2 TV Box 4K H.265 Decoding - EU PLUG BLACK, £18.96, at GearBest

hotukdeals.com/dea…365

It has a Rockchip Chip in it too, as opposed to the vastly notably more popular S905 Chipsets, etc?.

Any thoughts please?. :-)

I don't know really why the description on Amazon mentions it. When I receive it I'll let you know. Should get it tomorrow.

But iPlayer alone does NOT a FreeView Box make, no?.

Hi

It is misleading you're right. I researched the matter and if you want to get all the HD channels legally you need an external TV card of some sort... I think... I am quite happy with catch-up TV, now TV, Netflix, etc... Will let you know if I get anywhere when i receive the box (_;)

I have a couple of droid boxes including the same model q-box from Amazon. My only issue it does not behave itself on the play store; apps I use on other boxes are unavailable, possibly it is due to the software that was used to root it. Not a big issue just less convenient getting apps via browser not play store.

I have had the same opinion as you until I got a cca 100£ tablet with 2 full lines of dead pixels. (Gearbest EU warehouse)

I tried resolving it with the seller who just offered ridiculous compensation or asked me to send the item back to China.

So I went to paypal, who sure settled the case in my favour, but then comes the catch you need to pay for return shipping to China and it needs to be fully traceable (and you don't get a refund on that) price of that was about 30£...

So no PayPal doesn't "fully" cover you with Chinese sellers...
