(Morrisons Watford)Asked the lady at the counter why it was reduced and she said they had too much of it.

Yum love this.

I hope this is a national glut, love parma ham and its probably against foodie rules but it can be frozen - very well wrapped - and defrosts in minutes. Off to Morrisons to have a look in a few minutes.

£6.90 a kilo ain't bad, but how cured is it?

Won't be national as it's only reduced 'coz the store has bought too much.

Still, a good price if you're local. I would have bought half a kilo and asked them to slice is really really thinly

posh ham butties for dinner then...

for less than 7 pounds a kilo it is a bargain for a proper parma ham dop/docg , in Italy they sell over the counter for about 20 euro/kg .....

Again, depending on how cured and what the pig ate...

Brilliant! Love Parma ham :-)

for sure at that price I ll consider buy the whole leg!!!!! better than the cheap lidl legs that costs 40 pounds......... just my opinion

if the leg is fire stamped with parma logo and docg/dop you should be ok..... there are other cheap style parma ham (like S daniele and others that I can t remember names) that taste ok.... Parma ham or prosciutto crudo di Parma can only be made in Parma........

The PDO stamp is irrelevant in this instance. Im talking about what the pig has ate. The y will not charge the same for a pig fed on acorns to one fed on meal, will they...

not normally national these.

if is a docg/dop prosciutto cudo di parma, the pigs from their birth to the final leg on supermarket counters must comply with a tons of extremely rigid rules, if they sell proper parma ham for that price with that logo it is a very good price indeed, otherwise we are going down the way of selling something that looks similar to parma ham but it is not!

Went back in today and the deal is no longer I am afraid. Nice while it lasted, I have been stuffing my face on the stuff.
