Put quite simply, this is an awesome upscaling DVD player. Whilst many people will debate the pros and cons of Blu-ray (including myself) this DVD player really is bloody great and produces unbelievably good image and sound quality at a very good price. I know you find cheaper DVD players but if you want to get the very best out of your TV and DVD collection then pioneer really are the market leaders in my opinion.

thats not a deal as it's pretty much the standard price. it's £10 cheaper at the above link for a start, and from a supplier that people have heard of. play.com also has it at the £109.99 price. it's easy to upgrade the firmware to multi region yourself with a quick google

Good spot Uni

Scan were selling it for £88 two weeks ago and it very regularly pops up on their Today Only page. Free shipping is available for Hexus Forum members via Scan.

A great player but not a *great* price.

At the moment on 'scan.com' it is more expensive on here!

£110 !!! I could buy a decent Sony or Samsung DVD home cinema for about the same price.

You could but Pioneer really are the best and its worth paying that little bit extra

Sorry don't agree, once you go beyond the dirt cheap makes then you will be hard pressed to tell the difference without an Oscilloscope. Makes such as Phillips get rated by the mags as highly as 'tier one' makes twice the price.

I say this from experience as all my DVD players so far have been Pioneer, starting with a £500 one some years ago, until my recent switch to a Samsung Home Cinema system.

Sony and Samsung are not in the same league as Pioneer.

No need to PM me, you can say what you want to say infront of everybody on the forum.

ROFL, you are touchy aren't you? There is no need to be like that, I take it that you saw my reply as confrontational hence the edge to your reply. My comment was in regards to the fact that its a forum and thus both our opinions are valid and when aired openly on the forum they are for the benefit of everyone.

If you go back and read my postings I never said that Pioneer were not a great make, I wouldn't have paid the premium for Pioneers in the past if I didn't recognise this fact would I?

My problem with the deal was more to do with the £110 price tag but you seem to have focused in on the wrong thing, I was receptive to the Scan deal as the extra quality and features would be worth considering paying the premium for.
