It says 'Deal of the day' *EDIT* it's still live after midnight. Delivery from 1st Dec. *EDIT* It lasted a bit longer than it should have but now it's gone, up to £26.99.

£19.99 is a good deal for this energy monitoring version. The non-monitoring HS100 is cheaper.

The Argos triple-pack is the HS100 which does not do energy monitoring and so is cheaper.

Those are the HS100 which do not do energy monitoring and so are cheaper. I've bought 3 of those and 1 of these :-)

Thanks, saw them drop to £25 but was holding out.

What is the energy monitoring like? Does it show current watts used?

Yes, current use, 7 days and 30 days with daily average.

Thanks for the answer, how quickly does the display update with current usage?

Looking for the power monitor feature mainly to see what the power draw at the wall is for my PC setup

It’s within a few seconds. You can clearly see what draw by each item as you turn them off as it drops within a couple seconds.

Can it log power usage?

was going to buy this the other day but it's good i waited for BF. Though earliest prime delivery is Monday... the cheek!

Can it log power usage?

It stores a log of power usage for current power, daily average 7 / 30 days in the plugs memory. If the plug looses power the memory will get reset back to default.

Yes people shouldnt confuse the HS110 with the cheaper model HS100 which have the grey coloured circle inner part (Visual Difference) and dont do energy monitoring.

What are people using the energy monitoring for?

I've got one on the kettle, I turn it I on remotely then continue with work and forget about it, so I've got a script using this plug to send me a notification when the kettle's energy usage drops to 0. Then it starts a 5 minute timer so I don't forget tea is brewing.

I plan to do a similar thing with the washing machine.

How do you turn kettle on remotely as don't kettles have a physical on/off switch?

I'm assuming the kettle stays in the on position with you controlling the kettle from the mains

Yeah, luckily mine does that. And helpfully has a LED too. Just a £20 Sainsburys kettle.

Which one have you got? Mine clicks off automatically when the water has boiled.

So I would need to put water in, leave the clicker down, then switch on kettle via this plug.

But I'd need to remember to leave the clicker down all the time.

Be interesting to know which kettle you use

Prime only

Oh, yeah it clicks off when it's boiled, they all do that. That's essential to the plan otherwise the kettle would just keep boiling until it boils dry and possibly catch fire, and it wouldn't report 0 energy usage!

Yup, you just do things in reverse to how you normally would. After you've poured the tea you put cold water back in the kettle, flip the kettle's switch on and leave it. (My script turns the smartplug off.)
It's just the process now so I don't forget.

Saves me a minute of waiting about, several times a day. I appreciate it's not for everyone.

There are £150 smart kettles that do the same thing!
