Oh dear. Why?
Just because they can, doesn't mean they should.

There's a reason why this is on clearance.

We get this because it's excellent if you want a low carb diet - it's good for diabetics etc. They also do edamame based pasta.

I wouldn't recommend edamame - that's just soya bean. A phytoestrogen.
Best to have soy fermented (e.g. as unpasteurised miso, or tempeh)

As to why, pointless comment from someone that clearly hasn't tried it.
Obvious answer, anyone with gluten intolerance, or on a low carb or ketogenic diet.
Also it's arguably far better for you regardless of that. Likely higher in protein, and nutrients and micro-nutrients, and will have a lower glycemic load and not spike your blood sugar like wheat can. Most people have insulin restistance to an extent - thank the standard western diet and lifestyle. Generally you'll find those that nay say healthy foods are the very people that would benefit most from them - and likely have insulin resistance to an extent, a non ideal weight, and even be of poor health and pre-diabetic etc. Funny and sad to get criticism from those people of the very things that would help them. Ironic.

I'm a fan of non normal wheat based noodles and pasta. Buckwheat is very good for you, and my noodle of choice (soba).

Apologies. My mistake.
This thing is great for its calories and protein, but by god it tastes like crap though.
Anyone know if this is a national deal? Can't seem to find it on their website (may because its a discontinued line)?

You can mix it with other spaghetti types if you want to use it to have a higher protein meal. Not a bad taste when mixed. Personally i just find it a bit weird when eating black spaghetti on its own.
