Extended to Waitrose online - FREE weekday/weekend newspaper for My Waitrose customers

Found 25th Jan 2014
I posted 6 months ago that Waitrose had improved their free newspaper offer on £5 instore spend for customers with a myWaitrose card, by extending this to the weekend and improving the range of titles.

I have just noticed they have rolled this out online as well giving an option for those who prefer shopping online, min spend is £50 for online shopping (the offer is still available instore on £5 spend which can include the price of the newspaper).

Daily newspaper titles - include Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, the Guardian
Saturday newspaper titles - include Sat Telegraph, Sat Mail, Sat Guardian
Sunday newspaper titles - include Sun Telegraph, Sunday Mail, Observer

Also just a reminder that you can get a bottle of free champagne worth £20 when you order online @ Waitrose in Jan

Edit: now includes The Times and Sunday Times.

It's had this on the website for the last three weeks which takes you to a page listing 'daily' 'saturday' 'sunday' papers. It looks like they are supposed to be clickable but aren't. Tried searching 'newspaper' and nothing comes up. Has anyone actually managed to add a paper to their shop?
Got emailed a £15 off voucher from Waitrose so will get next weekends shopping from them, may be better to get it on Sunday for a better paper if it is working!!

I got the Mail last Sunday.

Cold no Morning Star but the champagne sounds good!:{

I got one with my order no problem. I think I just searched "Newspaper" and added one that was in the offer, highlighted by a picture of a waitrose card underneath.

Must depend where you live. I could see the papers until I logged in and chose my delivery slot. Then the papers all disappeared and when I search newspaper or the name of a paper it comes up as not available from this store!

Top shopper may have a point. If the online system is like the in-store system, you may find these "free" newspapers very hard to find!!
I am very fed up about the lack of availability of the quality newspapers advertised as 'free' to My Waitrose customers with a £5 spend. For the last three weeks, I have visited my local Waitrose at the weekend (two different stores ) - and have been unable to get a broadsheet newspaper.
The only paper they ever seem to have left is the horrible redtop Daily Mail, which you would have to pay ME to read. I don't live particularly near to these stores, there are other supermarkets nearer, and each weekend I have made the choice to go to Waitrose, expecting the newspaper offer to offset the extra cost of travelling there. I have been disappointed! And of course it's too late once you've driven there.
So it really annoys me to see the website plugging this offer, when in reality the stores only stock a few newspapers, and most people who go will be disappointed - like me! :-(

Frustrating as that is (and I feel your pain) I'm sure the store won't be deliberately having low stock of the broadsheets and excess stock of the Daily Mail "news"paper, If that really does ALWAYS happen, and you're not turning up mid-afternoon (when to be fair I would reasonably expect the "subject to availability" to be actively applying) just log a complaint so that they adjust the peper order.

My experience (based on the couple of stores I visit) is that whilst the pile of Daily Mail is invariably high (not a surprise to me!) one of the broadsheets is always available at around 1or 2pm when I shop.

I ordered the free paper last week and they then charged me for it and then the driver had to delete it from my order when it was delivered. The same appears to have happened on the ordered I placed earlier today online
