Curry's have an extra £150 off the marked price of the top model 21.5 (2017) imac until Monday, which is already reduced to £1299. Just add the code APPLEMAC150 at checkout.

That's a £300 saving off the Apple store RRP (https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-mac/imac) and makes it the same price as the middle model at John Lewis (https://www.johnlewis.com/2017-apple-imac-21-5-retina-4k-display-intel-core-i5-8gb-ram-1tb-hdd-radeon-pro-555-silver/p3001943).

It has 4K screen; 3.4GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor; 8GB memory; 1TB Fusion Drive and Radeon Pro 560 with 4GB video memory.

(Consequently, you get a slightly faster processor, fusion drive and better graphics with more video memory for the same price as the JL model! Only downside is you only get one year guarantee, but this can be upgraded by getting Apple Care.)

An absolute steal for students and mac gamers alike!

What’s the point of 4K on such a small screen?

The iMac would look 10 times better without the huge bezels!

I agree, bezels are quite large, but don't have the room for the 27 inch. Plus, the quality of the 4k is highly noticeable even on a smaller scale screen.

That’s a great price. You most likely wouldn’t lose any money if you decided in a year to sell it.

Although the display has a native resolution of 4096x2304, onscreen content is scaled so that it doesn’t look tiny, just a lot smoother. At the default scaling it looks like a 2048x1152 screen.

Of course, if you want to (and have the eyes for it) you can disable scaling (third party software is required though).

Photo editing. Remember you would be sat up close, unlike if it was a TV.

Good spot Op. Well done.

Is there any deals as good on a 27” model before I take the plunge and get this as a Christmas present to myself?

Best offer for 27 inch [I have seen!] is using the 10% off imacs at Argos (using code MAC10 HotUKdeal page), which brings a similar spec 27 imac model, with 5k screen, down from £1649.00 to £1484 Argos 27 imac.

It beat Curry's in this case - as the same 27 inch imac is £1749 with £200 off (using APPLEMAC200 at checkout) bringing it to £1549.

Thank you! Still just a bit too much can just about justify this model and would love a 27” model so will probably plump for this one.

Thanks!

I wouldn't want to use a 21.5 inch screen no matter how good the rest of the system is as it's just too small for me.
I really don't get why they didn't make it a 24 inch as the amount of extra space it takes up is minimal for a big gain.
Good price though for an apple.

Can you also get a student discount on this?

No, unfortunately not. But it beats the Apple education site price by a fair bit (over £100).
