Dont expect this to get hot or even warm, but this cheese is seriously good and for £2 (was £3.50) its great value too.

Extra Mature for those who like strong cheddar (like me). Its been this price for a while so I expect its nationwide.

Think this deal ends tomorrow so stock up!

Yummy!!!!!

Thanks OP.

I bought 1 of these at the weekend. Its actualy really nice. We usualy get the seriously strong brand but this is a good alternative .. heat added

sounds worth a punt.

This is good cheddar and for this price a steal.

Canadian Extra Mature is always good....about the same strength as Seriously Strong Cheddar or Collier's Powerful Welsh Cheddar imo.

This is the nicest cheese I've ever had. My fridge is full of the stuff! Thanks!

Love this stuff.....say cheese

Anyone know how it compares to catherdral city extra mature?

Think of the airmiles on this bad-boy!

Bought this a couple of weeks ago - gorgeously creamy and strong.

Like others have said, Canadian Cheddar is really nice and strong, and differs from the mass market cheese like 'Seriously Strong' and Cathedral City in that it is actually a strong, well matured cheese, and not like SS which is just full of salt to give the effect of strength.

I find SS rancid, and it has loads of strange gritty pieces in it.

The gritty bits are crystals of calcium lactate - a feature of many mature cheeses.

great on toast!

Indeed, but not all cheese has this feature, thankfully.

Other cheddar cheeses either aren't matured for as long as SS or use a Calcium Lactate crystal inhibitor in the cheese-making process to prevent this....and believe it or not, SALT is a very common form of Calcium Lactate crystal inhibitor....which would suggest there is more salt in other cheddars than in Seriously Strong Cheddar!

This cheese is absolutely lovely.Been buying it for years as always found SS to be flavourless in comparison.Heat added-nice one!
