Crazy price for that spec!

Crazy price for that spec!

Lots of people say that, but if you add up the price of the individual components (from ebuyer) you can buy them all for about the same price.

Yes, ebuyer are putting them together, but this would take ebuyer no more than about 15 minutes.

It does not come with an operating system, so basically you are just buying about 7 components that ebuyer have put together for you.

Absolute genius,Who would have thought that a PC was made up of some components fitted together

LOL

And of course, EVERYONE knows how to put all those components together so why are they even bothering to sell it pre-built!!?? :?

HOT from me (and I work in IT!)

Damn, I wish I'd have thought have doing that. I bought this last week and its a great bit of kit for the price, but I so wish I'd realised that i could buy all the bits myself and put it together myself to save the people at ebuyer the trouble of putting it together for me.

I'm well pleased with my purchase. Recommend this to anyone wanting a decent pc at a decent price, but remember, you need an operating system.......

AND NO, IT WONT PLAY CALL OF DUTY WELL ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Im typing this message right now on the PC specified in the deal -
Its good value, dont expect much from the graphics card however it can run not-so demanding games like Guild Wars, World of Warcraft and Battlefield heroes (all games i tried)
ive added a HD4850 to mine and a corsair 450W power supply - all in all i ended up getting a decent gaming rig for 320 quid, smashing.

Bought one of these at eBuyer when it was posted at about £230, just over a month ago. As Jack-L92 said, it's a really capable PC, especially for gaming, if you add a decent graphics card (and probably a new PSU), but it's also a great price for just an everyday-use machine which will be futureproof for at least a few years.
A worthy investment if you're looking for a new computer.

It looks like this is a Pentium dual core processor in the system and not a core 2 duo, that along with the onboard graphics are my only two cons on this system.
Just getting the components alone would cost around the same price so hot deal imo

this seems better than the acer u submitted earlier. oops just realised no OS

meh dumb question...voted hot!

If I remember my benches right this e5300 beats out alot of the older conroe core 2 duo's whilst running cooler and for the price the e5300 is a great cpu.

it seems a powerful and still very cheap PC. good find!

quality! you can prolly install the win 7 free download anyway.

Or Ubuntu! (assuming you don't want to play games)

Seen this on ebuyer and bought one at this price and really happy with the performance

Found this website really good for comparing cpu performence cpubenchmark.net/cpu…php

This processor is as good as a lot of the core2duo's in laptops

We bought 3 of these as development machines in our office for same price about 2 months ago from Ebuyer. Dreamweaver, photoshop, sql server and SVN all running simulataneously really flies along. Superb value for money.

I am not saying it is a BAD buy, in fact I have considered buying one myself. This is a fair set of components for a "office" computer.

The point I am making is that the poster said "brilliant spec for the money".

But anyone can buy the same individual components for the same cost from ebuyer, so it does not make it a "brilliant spec for the money" as this is what the individual components cost anyway.

Worth a punt but last one I bought from these guys with similar spec turned up DOA. Had to send it back then go elsewhere as they had sold out.

Rather than having the same deal posted over and over gain why don't the mods just unexpire the original post for this PC? :whistling:

Anyone recommend a cheap graphics card for this to run 2 monitors, using HDMI or DVI and a Dsub?

would vista x86 see the 4gb ram? or would you have to install x64?

mannyj;6144515

Vista x86 will only see 3.5gb including your graphics ram ,So if you have a 512mb Gc then vista will see 3gb, However vista rarely uses more than 2gb anyway ,

if i bought this pc and put in this graphics card:

ebuyer.com/pro…994

would i be able to run some half decent games? just curious and would i need anything else?

i'm clueless when it comes to pcs

Great deal, Heat added.

A HD 4670 would've ideally been the one to go for: e.g. this ]PowerColor one.

thank u, u have been sucha great help :-D

one last query before i make the jump, is the processor on this any good? i showed my cousin and he was insisting i get a quad core to last me for the next few years.
all i will do on this is word, excel, msn, browse internet, listen to music and possibly play 1080p mkvs... and football manager

Just ordered this, can someone means what it means by pre-order? I know generally a pre-order means that something isn't out, is the pre-order on here that they have to build it first?

In that case, this will be more than enough

If you ever find the CPU inadequate in the future you could fit a secondhand quad-core.

HI

Can you burn and copy DVDs with this?

Could someone who has one of these pc do me a huge favour(s). Could they look inside the case and tell me if the cpu fan is always spining from startup? cause theres a four pins that the cpu fan plugs into and one way the fan doesn't start on boot and one way it does, i assume the fan should always run? also if you wouldn't mine perharps run speedfan: almico.com/spe…exe and see what speed the fan spins. The only reason i ask is i put a new psu in mine and took this cable of by mistake and now i'm sure if it's on right. Thanks

georgeman2k9, the CPU fan's power wire will only really plug in one way - match the notch with the plastic bit on the motherboard's header. In any event, plug it in so that the fan spins up straightaway whenever you boot the system. If it doesn't, you obviously have it the wrong way! Yes, it should always run.

cheekyred;6160134

Specs say: "Optical Drive Super multi DVDRW" - so yes, it can burn & copy (but copying copyright-protected DVDs is against the law).

The motherboard drivers will be provided on disk.

You can get the latest (assuming it's the same motherboard as used before) from the manufacturer's website - related links in ]this post (when the deal was posted before).

Any more questions, or problems you have when you receive it, just post & someone will be glad to help
