BEWARE Not to be confused with a proper Chromecast.

How much of a blatant rip off is that? Jeez, even the 'chrome' logo.

My genuine Chromecast was £18 from Tesco, so not even worth the saving

ezcast is different as i think it uses the miracast protocol . so it basically should mirror the screen while chromecast receives streams and only mirrors some devices . it still looks like a knock of chromecast regardless.

That's my main gripe with the Chromecast they imply that it casts your phone screen when in fact it's only a handful of phones that do. All high end phones. But if you have a kitkat phone with root it can be made to mirror. So why not let all phones mirror? Because the mobile networks would become our TV's. It would be like tethering and they wouldn't know ;-)

Will Chromecast mirror a ipad like Apple TV does ?

Thanks

Chromecast will only stream from certain apps on an ipad. Mostly just Netflix

After all the hype I read about Chrome cast on here I purchased one from Amazon for £20 just to give it a try, but as stated it only supports a limited amount of apps and also a limited amount of devices for mirroring that being the main reason i purchased it, so I could watch downloaded movies and TV shows on my TV without using my WiFi for a second time, I have a Samsung note pro 12.2 which is very high end but not supported also has no HDMI output, but does support mirroring, so for myself Chrome cast was a waste of money this Ezcast device or something similar would have been a better option.

No, as olly7890 said, it will only work with certain apps (Amazon Instant Video is not one of them).

This is not Chromecast by the way.
