That looks to be a cracking bit of kit for the price. Great reviews too. Heat 🔥🔥🔥

that looks to be a very good price espcially from a UK company.
How would this actually protect you? Once robbery is committed and you hand over footage to police, they are least interested. Wouldn’t something like verisure be better?

Nothing against the deal.

er - so an alarm calls someone, and they turn up after a while, when the burglary is over. How do you identify the criminals?

The two things are entirely different. I and many others have both alarm and cameras.

this is actually a very decent bit of kit for the price. I bought it from the last deal here from Ebuyer / eBay

For sure it is not top end, but the cameras give a good level of detail and the systems is reasonable customization ..... not in the same way as high end kit like Hikvision, but good enough for good basic protection combined with an alarm system.

BTW this kit is made by Hikvision!

for the money this is a great buy

I picked this up a couple of months ago when it was £130, the image quality is great. I had to purchase a couple of powerlan adapters (£25 from Argos) due to the placement of my router, as the box needs to be hardwired to Ethernet, but works flawlessly. Didn't cost much to have them installed either. The app is great and responsive, you can easily cycle through the day and look at periods where the cameras have picked out movement.

At the end of the day this is going to provide you with some peace of mind, and hopefully act as a deterrent to burglars. There may be better solutions out there, but for this price it's an easy and cheap solution.
and if anyone wants a cheap solution to add more cameras to less critical areas - the current security camera on offer in Aldi right now works with this DVR .... the Aldi camera is only 720p but comes with power adapter and 18m coaxial / power cables and teh connectors fit exactly

Can someone clarify for me, the recorder box sits next to your pc/router, and you have 4 poe cameras connected to the recorder via 4 no 18m bnc cables, power to box with supplied adapter?
Get NVR system not DVR, save energy and data.

I don't think the cameras are POE. At least I can't see anything in the specs.
I would be very interested if they were POE. Anybody know?

Well on the website, under technical it says BNC X 8. So I'm guessing not a Poe system.

One of the power adaptors has a four way splitter to power the cameras

So, spec says 4 no. 18m Power extension. So how do cameras connect to system? Just looked at the pic, the bnc cables have a jack plug and socket too. Sorted

yep - 4x18m twin coaxial and power cables ...... one power adapter for the box and one for the four cameras. So you have both power adapter near the box (DVR) and the cable takes both video and power to the camera.

Also needs to be near your router or use a long Cat5 cable or power adapters to connect box / DVR to router for communication with the app.

I installed min in the loft as I have data and power up there - so DVR is well out of the way for any woudl be intruders to find !

How much was your install cost roughly?
What megapixel are these doesn't seem to say any one have any images of actual picture quality would be nice to see a honest option also not a fabricated marketing one.
Great price, specially with the WD Purple 1TB hard disk which by itself is about £45. You won't get POE at this price, but to be honest, once you've got the installation out of the way, would you really care.

Big heat from me!
NTSC... May cause issues ! (uk system is PAL)

exactly - yes need slightly bigger holes if required for the cables 16mm rather than maybe 10mm for PoE

works just fine over HDMI

1080p but cameras appear to be 3MP - the max setting in teh system is 3MP and this does give best image quality when viewed from the DVR

I'm thinking of installing in the loft too but how do you fix cameras so high up to ensure cable is reached to all four corners?

if you are happy with 720p resolution in less critical areas then the current Aldi special buys has a suitable camera. Comes complete with power supply and 18m connection cable

my cameras are fixed to the soffit boards and then teh cable go directly through soffit into loft space - so unless you have a massive house then 18m is enough to reach a central point in the loft.

TBH I have fitted my setup in a 1930s semi and have 2 cameras on the ground floor - one inside the porch and one in hallway and the cables are still long enough to be fed up to the loft space

Through mybuilder I paid £130 for installation.
Seems like a great price and a good bit of kit, however lots of people moaning on the app reviews saying how awkward it is and how the annual charge is extortionate
