Still bloody expensive just to see some updated helmets. Hot
Under £30 so good deal
Good price but this looks like the standard edition so picture is wrong as it say "Classic Edition". The classic edition has the following:

F1 Classics allows players to race legendary drivers in iconic cars and features two period circuits. This classic content can also be enjoyed in a range of further game modes including split-screen and online multiplayer modes.
NEW Classic Content F1 2013 breaks new ground to include official classic FORMULA ONE content for the first time in the series in an expansive brand new game mode introduced by legendary broadcaster Murray Walker. F1 Classics allows players to race against a mixture of original drivers and renowned team legends in iconic cars from the 1980s and features two historical circuits. Classic content can be enjoyed across a range of game modes including a custom championship, time trial and in split-screen and online multiplayer modes. Players will race on grids featuring FORMULA ONE cars and drivers from different eras, experiencing the differing handling characteristics and feeling the evolution of technology over the years, providing an eye-opening contrast to the cars simulated from the 2013 season. 1980s Content includes:
Legendary drivers including Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Gerhard Berger and others
Five iconic cars Ferrari, Williams & Lotus
Circuit De Jerez – former host of the Spanish GRAND PRIX
Brands Hatch – legendary former home of the British GRAND PRIX
Thanks for info. Apologies if photo is indeed wrong.
Was going to treat my 9 year old son to a car racing game but we aren't clued up on games. He played a few games of gran turismo 6 and it looked good but I see that it's not out until December, would this be a good game for him (none of us play computer games often and we aren't very good lol!)?
Thanks
dry game I think but good value
probably worth popping to a game shop and buying the 2012 version or GT5 to try out

Does he like and follow F1? It is quite a specific marketed game and in my opinion if he just generally wants a driving game then gran turismo type of game might be a better fit. As driving games go they generally fall in to arcade or simulation. and the two mentioned are more simulation but can be adjusted in the settings menu's with driver aids to make the driving easier.
Then there is the more arcade type of game like the Need for speed series but which are a bit more drive/crash but this game might not be suitable due to age certification it depends which you go for.
Also there are Rally driving games like Colin McRae...
I guess really a lot depends on your son and what he is looking for in a car racing game.
@Mrs.Z
If your looking for a game for your 9 year old have a look on YouTube at either IGN or GameSpot video reviews of the few below and see what you think...

Burnout Paradise (this is only a few £££ now but is great!)
Gran Turismo 5 (only about a tenner)
Needs for Speed: Most Wanted
Grid
Grid 2
Dirt 3

Any of those should keep him busy until GT6 is out without costing the earth.
Thanks for the advice, I had a quick look on amazon and I think
That something with more variety of different styles cars would be more to his taste, we had gran turismo 5 prologue a few years ago it's probably around here somewhere.
On our samsung tablets he loves Real Racing 3 and doing races to raise money to buy different card
Wow very cheap compared to other sites. HOT!
If this is the classic edtion it is mega mega deal if not its still good, thanks for the find. How is argos on delivery for release?

Definitely sounds like Gran Turismo will be more to his liking then. The F1 games are good but definitely aimed more at fans.
No mention of Forza?
Shame it's not the classic edition.

Good price still tho, I'm guessing it should read £36.99.

Argos should honour this, they did with Grid 2 for £20, but only one per customer.

Been waiting for a good deal on this thanks
cracking deal, but wish it was the classics edition so bad.
GT5 Academy Edition is great. Picked it up on the Asda website about a week ago for £15 delivered.
Awesome deal, and the extra classic content can be purchased in-game. Suspect this will be cheaper than going for the classic edition from Amazon straight off. Thanks for sharing.
I heard the 'Classics' extra is DLC but not sure how much extra it is.
I was going to wait, but for that price I'll go for it now (dont care for the Classic content really). Am also wondering if its a pricing error...

The picture is correct, it doesnt say "classic edition" it says "F1 classics 1980's content"
Standard edition comes with the classic 80's content. The "Classic edition" has additional DLC (1990's Content and Classic tracks).
The description you posted is of the Standard edition which includes 1980's content.

Went for it. Bought the last 3 F1 games at launch and was going to give this a miss, but at that price might as well just get it.

Cheers, cancelled my £30 Amazon pre-order.

Fwiw, the DLC is split in 2 parts, one is the 90s cars, the other is the two tracks. I've been informed that they will be £6.99 each, although this is subject to change.

The picture was of the Classic edition, it has since been changed.

There seems to be a lack of drivers and a limited amount of 'classic' tracks too. I'm not saying that I would want to be Senna, but his name is tied to another driving game franchise. There are plenty of people who would want to drive as Senna though.
The only game I can think that his name was tied to was Ayrton Senna's F1 on the Megadrive.

Fair enough, but his description of the classic version is still wrong as hes describing the standard version.

Senna's name and licence have been bought by Reiza Studios reizastudios.com/new…na/
this is a great price but just not a big enough step forward for me to justify purchase. classic content is a good idea but is too limited, if they had more cars and drivers then it would have been an essential purchase but they have decided to string it out and milk this series and their customers.
Anyone got an email confirmation? Still haven't got mine.
No email confirmation here yet (ordered late yesterday).

Edit - still nothing (Monday 8pm).

I don't know if it's a misprice or not, but if only Amazon would price match.. As far as I know Argos don't deliver internationally. I would grab this for that price, it's time to upgrade my F1 2010
great deal!
SimplyGames has the standard edn for 29.85 and the classic edn for... 49.85 oO
Ordered a few mins ago and got a paypal receipt and an order confirmation email. Apologies for the wavy lines at the top. The eraser went a little haywire when I was trying to blot out personal info.

Racing and cricket aren't sports.
Still haven't got an email confirmation.
This morning the price lept back to 39.99. I did not receive a confirmation email. If Argos screw-up I'll go with SimplyGames, or just wait it out.
Edit - they've taken my credit card payment, so hopefully its ok.

Oh goodie! Glad I bought it when I did. As said above, I got the email and paypal confirmation straight immediately, but after reading the comments on here I also did a screen grab of the payment screen just in case too.
Just spoke to Argos on Twitter and a nice chap checked my order. Despite not getting a confirmation email he told me my order was successful and also gave me my order number.
Did you just tweet Argos for this on twitter to get a response as i also have yet to recieve confirmation but have taken payment?.
