Nice though I wished they'd skip 2020 and release 2021 for the start of the F1 season

Thank you
Was about to buy this, now I don't need to.

Does it have VR support?

Does it have VR support?

Was just thinking the same thing
No it doesn't. Only Dirt Rally 1 and 2 from Codemasters has the VR support.

Great, thanks for the post - i'd have missed this! Shall download tonight.

Would you happen to know if the Senna/Prost special feature is on this trial?
(Obviously I expect it's just the standard edition!)
Will have to try it out if I get chance but my past experience of the F1 games was not good and it's a real shame there's no VR support.

It can be played in VR with vorpx and open track...and it works well
Anyone play this with keyboard?
If so any good?

After all these years I still play GT Legends and GTR2 on keyboard and thoroughly enjoy them.
Freeplay weekend as well on Xbox if you have Gold/Gamepass ultimate.
enjoying this! hard hard game.

Thank you sir! Very nice to know I'm not the only Gentleman keyboard racer

Funny thing I have a G29 sat under my desk for the 4 years. Lol. Not enough space/too much hassle. I'm so used to keyboard that driving with a wheel felt alien to me

I once put all the settings on the most realistic difficulty with no driver aids or anything...I couldn't even drive 10 meters in a straight line it just spun immediately Must have to be really gentle on the throttle or something.

if i dont remap every game to wasd it doesnt feel right lol, about 20 years ago moving from arrow keys to wasd felt so foreign

it is not easy, i like this about the game.

i only started playing today with wasd as controls and ive now turned the difficulty up to 40 (not even difficult apparently!) and stuck safety car on and real damage and it gets much easier, its still blooooody hard though! i love it.
Thanks for posting we have added your thread to the Highlights page
Yayy
Its no Pole Position, but heat given anyway
Been waiting to see if this was ever going to get the D removed and be ahem... “released”, but awesome just to have a free weekend

Weird, not driven with a keyboard since Toca 2, at least use a gamepad

Lol I bought one too it just sat, never even broke the seal on the box, ended up selling it a year or so later. 😄
Ah, well this explains why suddenly there's alot more rookies and people crashing in ranked multiplayer :P Despite this, it's always good to see a free weekend in a game as it might get some more people to get the game after the event having tried (and hopefully enjoyed) it

Haha! For me it's WASD for every game except racing. For racing I'm still with arrows, A, Z for gears and Alt for manual clutch (works great, I even heal and toe ).
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be avoiding multiplayer until after the 4th.

Yeah that was probably me last night, crashing a lot. Tbh I didn't really enjoy it, so I'm glad I got to try it for free.

Pretty much impossible with digital input. Analog inputs have better chance at taming the beasts. The sheer torque of these engines means driving in the wet or interchangeable conditions, the AI run rings round us as they have TC.
Really like this game, Xbox one (I’m crap but it’s the taking part that counts right!)
Only takes 4 hours to down load. Can't wait.

Answered my own question - thanks
Good game. It’s not loads different from the last one I played (F1 2016) but the graphics and car models are very nice now.

Also the AI is pretty feisty if they want to get past you now. Chasing your slipstream and actually giving you little chance of defending. Overtaking them can be a little easy as they still seem to be a bit submissive going wheel to wheel but it’s miles better than before where you could divebomb them from 4 car lengths back and they’d open the door wide open to let you through

The games haven't evolved massively on this gen', F1 2015 still feels pretty similar, but with 2016 they added a proper career mode, 2017 classic cars, 2018 even more classic cars, and this year F2 with a few changes to the classic car lineup... I actually made a list if anyone's interested

With all these annual franchises it's whatever they can do to keep them feeling fresh.

I'm interested!

Do you happen to know which games support LAN play? Also was it true that a few/one of the games had no option to run a championship other than career mode? And last question... On 2019 you can create your own championship by choosing what tracks you want to race. Do any of the others have this?

Don't worry if you don't have the info as it'll be a ballache to find.
Thanks for the post. Shame the game is such a let down. Physics wise compared ot the like of GT Sport it feels awful, so glad i never bought it.

I can't really help with your questions but I'll share my nerdy list. As Lisa Simpson said "I made a list. I make a lot of lists"

In addition to the classic cars in F1 2017, for 2018 they added:
1972 Lotus 72D
1976 Ferrari 312 T2
1976 McLaren M23D
1978 Lotus 79
1979 Ferrari 312 T4
1982 McLaren MP4/1B

'Headline' edition of F1 2018 also includes:
2009 Brawn BGP-001 (standard content in F1 2019)
2003 Williams FW25 (standard content in F1 2019)

Classic cars missing in F1 2019 compared to 2017/18:
1995 Ferrari 412T2
2002 Ferrari F2002

2019 Legends edition includes:
1990 Ferrari F1-90
1990 McLaren MP4/5B
2010 Ferrari F10 (also included in the Aniversary Edition)
2010 McLaren MP4-25 (also included in the Aniversary Edition)

Obviously you can buy the DLC separately, and they've added F2 in F1 2019. As F1 2017 was the last game I actually bought (played 2018/19 on gamepass/game trial) I wanted to keep track of the content changes so I knew what I was getting... don't judge me
