I have F1 2010 for PS3, for those that had 10 and now have 11, is it really worth upgrading?

No, 2011 graphics are poorer (look cartoony). They're probably fixed a few more bugs (haven't played 11 long enough to check) but 2010 was the better game for me.

Graphics are pretty much the same, handling is better in my opinion, a lot of bugs have been fixed from last game but a few been added and there's the addition of DRS and KERS. I would recommend getting it if you've had 2010 for a while.

Do not I repeat do not buy f1 2011 for the ps3, other platforms might be ok but the ps3 graphics are worse than 2010!

heat for the xbox version though as i think that's ok?

2011 is a superb game, the handling is a major improvement on 2010 and the addition of Drs and Kers makes it much more tactically interesting.

Yes the PS3 graphics aren't as good as last year's version but they're not as bad as people make out and when you're racing you don't notice them anyway.

Heat added!

The graphics for the 360 I would say are better than 2010, I would say the games a minor improvement on it with the addition of KERS & DRS. Still yet to see the safety car despite a few big crashes

No offense to the F1 lovers I found these games really boring i bought the 2010 played it once traded it in got GOW3. :D. Heat though fantastic price OP

I've just bought F1 2010 again from Play for a tenner. I didn't get on with F1 2011. I found the brightness of the colours made it look a bit "cartoon". F1 2010 is up there with F1 97 on the PS1 and F1 06 for the PSP. Very few F1 games have ever worked properly and felt right. F1 2011 is not one of them.

Absolute bargain in my opinion. I got it when it came out and have racked up about 24 hours of play so far in career mode. Only half a season in...... Have encountered the safety car twice as well. It's damn frustrating though when the AI decides your doing too well in a race and gives you a puncture at the start of a lap!

If you set up the gaming options right then the cars will feel right in terms of handling. I play on intermediate level with the only assist being cornering (arrows showing best racing line into and out of turns). Everything else is switched off and makes it a much more challenging game and very satisfying when you do well.

So when you touch a kerb in 2010 and spin out automatically regardless of your speed or angle of entry does that feel right?

2010 is an arcade game compared to 2011.

If you have a mate to play this with, co-op championship is brilliant. I'm doing 50% races with my brother every other night, it's just so much fun. Wouldn't upgrade for the singleplayer though.

shame, 2011 is now broken thanks to the last update.

Has anyone actually gone to sainsburys and bought it, they didn't know about the offer and games were still showing at till at 24.99 I know it says selected stores, anyway the nice guy at customer services put it through at this price after he phoned around and checked the Web link showing 19.99 prices. You're never going to get a set answer on this. I've had F1 2010 since launch and likewise with 2011. the latest version of the game is mich better, and i mean 2011 with the latest patch. Handling, physics, graphics plus safety car, kers and drs.

So many people buy FIFA annually just for new strips but this game has much more added. I use the 360 but from plenty of readon on the dedicated forum it seems the patch has sorted alot of the PS3 graphics issues.

As for the brightness of the colours making it look cartoony whoever said, your tv does have incredible amounts of adjustment (if a decent tv) and personally on mine the colours look perfect.

All a matter of opinion but most players agree this is a big step up from the previous and by far the greatest f1 game ever to come to a console. The 'sim' racers will always tell you rfactor etc but they're just bitter codies have made an excellent game for the masses ....if this game bothers you that much im sorry you're too fussy and im so glad i dont notice half the things they do.

That was the Ps3 version btw Didn't check the xbox version. guessing it was the same issue.

bought the ps3 version a week after release...graphics were horrific (apparently 360 is better though) gameplay wise they had made improvements from 2010 as cars dont spin out as easily you can 'catch' the back end when you get a bit eager on the throttle. Plus the KERS and DRS features are a nice added bonus, along with managing fuel loads, tyres etc

2011 is a troll's paradise, the way you can drive on the grass or even through the sand with barely any loss of traction is ridiculous. It's possible to blast past a drive into a corner, overshoot it in the grass and come out ahead of them is stupid and makes the skill of driving on a race track a joke. The kerbs may as well not bother being there too.

Do you drive with all assists off?

Graphics on PS3 were unplayable pre patch but it seems for most people the update has fixed.

I disagree about kerbs, unless you meant KERS.
Did the German grand prix last week and during practice I managed to rip the front left wheel off 3 times thanks to hitting the kerb at high speed going into the chicane.

I played multi-player online a couple of times but just constantly encountered people who would just smash you out of the way.
Needs to be better in terms of being selective about opponents. I want to race against people who use the same settings as me, rather than people who have all the assists switched on!

Agreed, online is garbage compared to last year thats my only criticism. They've made it possible for so many people to race onlibe but doesnt work well imo.

Totally agree with the co-op career. It's great to be able to compare laptimes and team goals as you're going along. There's a few annoying bugs, but I've really enjoyed playing this.

Playing online is usually a free-for-all smash-and-grab every-man-for-himself ordeal, but it's entertaining to see cars skidding around everywhere on the first corner. From time to time you'll find some sporting racers though, which is always nice!

Exactly, with assists off it is possible to cut a corner and come out ahead of someone, you're usually going backwards though and about to lose one of your wings...

Having said that I do thing the penalties for corner cutting should be harsher. Codemasters have to strike a balance though between stopping cheating and not overly penalising genuine racers making a mistake in what is after all a tricky game to perfect.

Checked this in Camberley and still £24.99. Asked the guy at service desk and he knew nothing about it about it. "It was prob an online offer" he said - online its 37.99, so no idea what 'selected stores' this is.

Er......has anyone voted hot and actually bought it? I only got it at this price after showing them the Web page and him phoning head office

its no longer on the offers page

my bad ! , £24,99 is still not bad :P

sainsburys lost my sale as a result

Your mistake was innocent, and if it wasn't for you I would not have bought it, the customer service gave me two copies at 19.99 each (me and bro) after I asked them to check there website advert and tell me which store I must got to for this offer.
