Alright, before everyone starts bashing this for being a tiny set for £100, it's Facom and this set normally costs £120-£150. If it's not your cup of tea, fine, but if you're in the market for Facom tools then it's a good deal.

Delivery is £4.95, but free over £100 and you can get a further 5% off with code 9UDFYCG, so put something for £6 in you basket and you'll get it for free and free delivery.

I know, it does my head in. I saw people going wild over a pair of £2 water pump pliers earlier- how good are they going to be?! You can get a decent pair with lifetime warranty for £16. It drives me mad.
Fair enough if something's not in your budget, but don't vote it down because of your own ignorance. It makes me want to stop bothering posting anything sometimes.

FACOM, I'm not buying that!
NOT voting cold. But why would I buy this when, you can often get the Halfords Advanced 150 Piece Socket set for the same price, with life time guarantee
Facom seem pretty decent and since 2006 are owned by Stanley Black and Decker who own various other well known brands like Dewalt and, curiously enough, Stanley and Black and Decker.

There is no mention of this fact on Facom's website however

I've got a Facom toolbag on wheels and it's pretty decent

Transparency in the supply chain

They don't make tools like they used to

I don't think I'd brag about it either to be honest, Stanley have gone to the dogs since B&D got hold of them. Good info about them now owning Facom though, I didn't know that. Hopefully they won't go the same way as Stanley.

True enough. I tend to buy Bahco sockets myself, I've always found them to be good and likewise have a lifetime warranty. That said, presumably Facom didn't get their reputation from nowhere, and there must be some good reason people pay this kind of money for them.

I'd never heard of them tbh until they started being sold by my local Mac tools dealer, but apparently they have a long history & association with Motorsport -
"Alain Prost, one of the modern masters of setting Formula 1, often recalls that his first tools were provided for him by FACOM, which is still the partner of the Williams-Renault team, but also of Porsche, Peugeot, Citroen and Jaguar.

Since 2011, FACOM has been the sports partner of the Sébastien Loeb Racing team, created by the nine-time world champion of WRC. In red and black, SLR defends FACOM colours in several disciplines (endurance, GT touring and Porsche Carrera Cup)."

That being said, both of them brands along with Snap-On as well, are very much living off their previously renowned quality and the history. They were all good, but todays tools are overpriced junk in comparison.

I bit like asking why would you buy a BMW when a Kia does the same job. Some people are happy to pay more for nice things. The fit and finish on Facom tools make them a real pleasure to use.

Like for like, halfords sets are cheaper to buy and lower quality. You are comparing a much larger set. I think you know that. If we are being pedantic, a top of the range kia will be simialr price to a lower end bmw.
