The wastelands return in this anticipated third instalment in the Fallout role playing series from genre veterans Bethesda Softworks. Bethesda Softworks are best known for their expansive Elder Scrolls series: a role playing title full of wide open landscapes in an ancient fantasy realm, far removed from the 50s-inspired future of the Fallout universe. The developer has taken their work with the role playing series and applied it to Fallout 3, a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutated creatures and humans doing their best to survive. Players take the role of a resident from Vault 101, one of many vaults sealed underground before nuclear warfare destroyed the world as we know it, leaving his home for the first time. Many of the gameplay elements from the Elder Scrolls series have been transferred to Fallout 3, along with a number of improvements made to the formula, namely in combat. The V.A.T.S., or Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System, allows players to pause time and target specific limbs on an enemy with the weaponry scattered across the land, not always in plentiful supply. Fallout 3 takes the dark humour and rich back story of previous Fallout titles and, in the safe hands of Bethesda, transforms it into a modern-day role playing epic.

I'm waiting for Fallout: New Vegas. :whistling:

Hmm, amazon have pushed the price back up. In the same boat as Jake

Waiting for a similar price to this on the xbox :-(

I am tempted by this but I have read nothing but bad reports about bugs on this versus the original, frame rate issues, crashing etc.

Also if I have played this quite a bit on the PC (only the original game and Ankorage) is it worth having a look on PS3 or will I just be disapointed by the lower resolution graphics?

Problem with that though is the DLC code would have Been used and then all your paying for is a Standard version of the game,

PSN DLC codes are only Redeemable once

The DLC is on the disc for the GOTY editions, you don't download it.

Defo few and far between, i'd agree with that

i managed to get this for 12.99 preowned from game i got lucky i guess:)

I bought this new a few weeks back. Not my cup of tea, chucking mine on ebay.

I got this for £19.99 a few months back at Gamestation. Good game, unfortunately it is a bit glitchy. Wandering in the wasteland and vats are the worst, sometimes the game really chugs.

I already have Fallout 3 and Broken Steel, but I'm almost tempted to get this as it's marginally cheaper than buying the other three PS3 expansions (£7.99 each). Does anyone know if there are any issues with using my existing save game?

At the moment the GOTY edition is unplayable if you are continuing your saved game from the original Fallout 3. I must have spent 90 odd hours on the original, managed to play broken steel and now the game is literally unplayable because it has ground to a complete crawl. There isn't a patch yet either. Might be ok for those who start a fresh game using the GOTY disc though.

I will be starting a new save for the goty anyways so bugs wont get me as much (touch wood!). When ever i go into game or gamestation, they have preowned ones for 30 quid or a new one for 40. They are blarmy wanting that price, never seen it as low as 15 as you guys have reported.
