PC Steam Codes on Amazon.com for $3.30 each = £2.59

Log in to Amazon. Got to "My Account". Select "Manage Your Content and Devices". Choose "Settings" tab. Select "Country Settings" and enter a US address.

Ideally, use a conversion-charge free card to purchase if you have one (e.g. Halifax Clarity, Santander 123, Sainsburys Gold).

Thank you to the posters below for the tips on cards and country limitation workaround.

Not bad, though you may wish to wait for the GOTY versions and pay like £1 more as they are usually under £4

I get the error:

We noticed you're shopping from United Kingdom. This item is not available for purchase due to geographical restrictions. It may be available on Amazon.co.uk. Not Shopping from United Kingdom? Change your country setting

I add that I have a US Amazon account as I briefly lived there; until now I hadn't realised that my US and UK Amazon accounts were actually separate entities!

This is what I did in the past.
Log in to Amazon. Got to "My Account". Select "Manage Your Content and Devices". Choose "Settings" tab. Select "Country Settings" and enter a US address (I created a US address with www.borderlinx.com),

works fine, you just need to setup an American address. I paid with my revolut card and all went though fine.

Money Saving Expert has details of the costs of conversion for many cards in the "Non-sterling transaction fee" column here:
moneysavingexpert.com/tra…ges
E.g. Most cards charge around 2.95%, but some credit cards, including Sainsburys Gold and Santander 123 (this one until 31st Dec) don't add any extra costs. It's the same when buying Humble Bundles in dollars.

Options/launcher screen displays ok, but then the game crashes on launch irrespective of compatibility settings, and running as administrator brings up another error message - something to do with 'live.dll'.

There was a time years ago when I'd be prepared to jump through all sorts of hoops to get a game to run; not anymore, especially as I've already played Fallout 3 for something over 190 hours.
