The hotel is a couple of miles from beaches, near Shanklin and Sandown, but for peak summer its a good base and a good price for a weeks stay. For 2 adults and 2 children. Does not include ferry but tesco vouchers could help towards that. Other dates are similar prices
Note that this price is non refundable.

Plus the cost of the ferry from Portsmouth and being stuck in a family room with 2 kids and the wife is not a holiday.

In the UK, even brand new, well fitted rooms only feature a double and narrow, short, uncomfortable sofa beds. It's annoying as hell.

Usually you get 2 single beds as standard in US:

Our spacious family rooms are ideal for up to two adults plus two kids (aged 15 or under). Most feature a super-comfy double or kingsize Hypnos bed, plus a single sofa bed and a pull-out bed. We also provide cots at no extra cost.

They're both very narrow and the sofa bed (the one you get by default if you're only having 2 beds) is short and the mattress is only half as thick.

I've gone travelling lots of times and had to have the sofa bed and I never get a good nights sleep if its at a premier inn because of the terrible 2nd beds in "twin" rooms.
I do like Premier Inns for a good city centre stay over, but for a week...……...

I chose a week as its a holiday, daily breakdown is
Mon 3 Aug Room 1 £59.00
Tue 4 Aug Room 1 £72.00
Wed 5 Aug Room 1 £64.00
Thu 6 Aug Room 1 £47.00
Fri 7 Aug Room 1 £45.00
Sat 8 Aug Room 1 £59.00
Sun 9 Aug Room 1 £29.50

So guess you could get a decent 3 day break, but the cost of the ferry is high

That's it. We had a cot too so 5 of us were squeezed in. Tight, bit of fun for the kids and really only somewhere to sleep for the night.

That said we recently stayed in a golf course's hotel's family room and that was massive, 2-3 times the size! Had a bed spare. Did cost about 30% more than the Premier Inn
Hospitality seems to either attract a very 'picky' clientele, or the the industry itself, particularly hotels. Either way you see something bring out a very pedantic & petulant aspects of some personalities. I read some of the things people complain about and I think they are embarrassingly trivial. I'm genuinely curious as to whether they aware that they come across like spoiled, temperamental, hormonal, teenage divas?

Ferry is a massive ripoff. Hurst Castle to Fort Albert is only a mile. One of these should to nicely.

There is a festival 5 miles up the road that weekend. Great Wonderfest

Lol
The ferry to Isle of Wight is scandalous.
if you have family / friends in the IoW they will have promo/discount codes that they can send you. Not that its hugely cheaper. They even have a 'premium' seating area for an extra £10 or something, its too funny.

I've never heard anyone going on holiday for a week there - long weekend, tops - its not that big of a place.

Have stayed here for a couple of nights with the family. The rooms are decent enough.

Yep. Most expensive stretch of water (£ per mile) to cross in the entire world. Ludicrous.

George Osbourne said years ago that he'd find the money for a bridge if the islanders wanted it, but of course the progressive Caulkheads said no. In doing so they sentenced themselves to continued decline and deprivation. There's a reason why the IoW has the worst performing schools in the UK and a huge drugs problem.
Hope this helps!

really useful, is it easy to do for other Premier Inns, thanks

For me it sort of is - for others it would be more difficult. Takes a bit of manual work as well as automation to get the results. Usually I post when there is a Premier Inn thread. If you've got your eye on particular hotels, let me know and I'll try and post the rates here.

The ferry almost gets bundled in for free on train tickets including cheap advance tickets. Went to IOW in May into Yarmouth and out of Cowes and both tickets from/into South Wales were under 20 quid with railcard.
