This seems a bargain to me compared to the Competition.

It has good reviews as well (better than the original if you check it out)!!:

amazon.co.uk/pro…LIG

Currently the cheapest it's ever been according to camelcamelcamel.

Product Description

The Duronic Jet Fryer makes cooking quick, convenient and most importantly, healthy! This unique product makes crisp, succulent fried food with little to no oil. Using Air Circulating Technology, the Duronic Jet Fryer reaches an internal temperature of up to 200ºC and evenly circulates hot air to cook Chicken Wings, French Fries, or onion rings with the same crunchy exterior and moist interior produced by conventional deep fryers.

The Duronic Jet Fryer has the ability to fry, roast, bake or grill. All this with up to 80% less fat in food cooked in traditional fryers. An inspirational recipe book has been included to get you started with Frying with hot air. It's so simple to use, you can easily try out new ingredients, which will give excellent results.

3rd party highest price (Dec 31, 2014) Time machine sale?

If you keep an eye on the Phillips one you can get that at a good price it's up and down all the time, patients is a vertu , I paid £79 a while ago, I'm not a brand snob but £10 between philips and duronics I know what I would choose, but not voting either way as it's a good price right now!

I paid 75 for my Phillips, just choose your time? Sounds more like a crappy American advert. #bettercallsaul

Brand snobs! Check out the Amazon reviews, it has better feedback than the "branded" product and yes the Philips product has previously sold for £75 (for a very limited period) but it's current retail price? Oh, yeah, that'll be £100!

A halogen oven does the same thing as these "air fryers", and a lot more besides, but they are much cheaper, so don't waste your money paying this sort of price; you can get a halogen for 30quid or less.

See the earlier posting for the Salter "air fryer", which as the comments there point out, is actually a halogen oven. This was being sold by Robert Dyas, last I looked for about 40quid..

As also pointed out by other comments/postings, it is possible to pick a halogen oven up for 25quid or even less - e.g. if you got the recent Aldi offer for 25quid and used the 5quid off 40quid voucher from the Daily Mirror, then it could have been argued that it was obtained for 20quid net of the voucher - that's what I call a bargain!

+1. These things are rubbish. A £2 baking tray is better.

I love ours ... but then I am partial to eating 4x tasteless burnt chips that took 45 minutes to cook.

Sounds like it does just what my fan oven does.

Do you have to be a doctor to buy as I don't have any patients??

I think you'll find it's the usual trolls chipping in on the product in here, surely the comments that really actually matter are the one's from the people that have actually bought the item from Amazon? Which as you say Stevie are mostly postive.... (_;)

A £2 baking tray that cooks things too? Amazing! ....Unless of course you still need to use that expensive oven, and enjoy having to wait 15+ mins for it to even reach temperature.

I've had an airfryer for 2yrs now and it's fantastic at what it does, and it does it very quickly. Something quite pertinent for a convenience product.

can get a salter air fryer for 44.99 from b&m

I paid £65 for the Philips. i would stick to the brand, remember Tefal? French company, same reliability as the french cars.
Duronic must be even worse.
Although there are some good reviews for it on amazon.

I just found out about using a pizza mesh cut down to fit my halogen oven, I'll try that first!

@MaximusRo - Because the Dutch are famous for the quality of their cars aren't they....? Why "must" Duronic be even worse?

I bought the Philips XL after my actifry gave up the ghost. I didn't use it much as my partner could not get the hang of it so decided to get another actifry. I only had it for just year and it won't switch on now so that is £150 not well spent. When it was working it was great to use instead of heating up the oven. I have ordered one of these on the basis of the reviews so looking forward to receive it.

had a duronic airfryer for well over a year. it is used probably everyday. we searched and debated between philips and the duronic but after seeing the Philips one in a store we weren't impressed at all. Firstly it wasn't very big and did seem a hassle to dismantle to clean. The duronic can cook plenty for three people and is very easy to clean. I rarely use the oven these days, and the leccy bill is so much less too. would definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes no oil cooking !!

I just bought a Duronic @ £59.00 from Amazon and I can't wait to use it again for proper chips! You could not even smell I had been cooking anything. They were great - very pleased with the brand. I checked reviews on lots of the more popular brands and the positives didn't come close to the positives of the Duronic. Love it.
