Don't lie in, dig out your wellies
Come along with your friends and family to a real farm near you and spend a day in the fresh air, in beautiful countryside, and see how farming works.

Each event will be unique with its own activities - based around their farm's own individual story. Activities during the day may include a farm walk, nature trail, tractor & trailer rides, pond dipping, activities for kids, mini farmers market or picnics.

Open Farm Sunday is a national Open Farm Day co-ordinated by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) so people can hear and see the positive steps farmers are taking to look after the fabric of our countryside whilst producing safe, wholesome and affordable food.

see website for participating farms in your area !!

I hope the the Farmer's tell the visitor's what's really going on in the countryside:
The Supermarkets screwing us left/right and center
The Goverment's total lack of response to the TB issue
The Insane amount of Red Tape and Paperwork

i totally agree , thats why we are doing it !, the public has lost all touch with the countyside and farming , they need to understand the british farmer no longer recieves subsidies for the products they produce, that inturn used to allow us to sell to the supermarkets goods at below the cost of production , We need to get away from a cheap food policy , (when was the last time a supermarket advertisement said anything other than we are the cheapest ) and into a "quality" food policy ,that doesn't harm the country we all Love and in turn is wholesome and healthy for the consumer , They also need to understand that cheaper imported food that the supermarkets uses to keep our products on the price floor is quite often grown with substances (antibiotics , and older harmful sprays etc) that were banned here many years ago . Thats besides the health and safety aspects of the people growing it abroad , and the massive carbon footpint of bringing masses of food from many miles away ,
We do get a smaller payment from the government (getting less and less every year ) to look after the wildlife and countryside and we welcome the public to see what we are doing on everybodys behalf ,as well as trying to convince the public to look on the labels and take confidence in the red tractor logo or the british flag on the packet

so come and meet us and see for yourself andy

Great news for this chap who is now looking for a new wife

Looking forward to this epecially the face painting... so are the kids

just a quick note to say thank you to all of you that attended , and we hope you all had a good day out , we had over 1000 at ours and as farmers we were impresed by actually how much people do care about where our food comes from ,and we were happy to answer questions that the public asked us .
We are looking after the wildlife and natural plants alongside our crops and we hope you saw this ,as this is not always the case with imported products .
If you missed this year we will be back next june for another great day out all the best andy
