Farmfoods, 5kg Onions. £1.50

Just spotted these while looking for the salmon which they didn't have. So if you use a lot of onions as I do to make Bolognese and curry to stock the freezer for the kids then this is an ideal bargain. Hope it helps someone.

Have bought these before and found them to be great. Had to chuck the odd one away but most tend to last for ages.
This is the normal price of 5 kilo onion sacks at Farmfoods which is great but there are times when it's on sale for £1.00 only.
as said by kgorman yes you do have to throw away the odd one,but bargain at that price.
They were a £1 for quite a while before they went upto £1.50.
I believe these are aimed at Asian/Far Eastern communities who still cook from scratch as opposed to Farmfoods usual clientle who buy microwave food....
Tried loads of fruit and veg from there and it's always been rotten or mouldy, I had to throw more away than I used

They are always £1 in our local fruit market
Usually get a 25kg bag for around £6.50 so this works out more dearer per kg.
I bought these and the deal was so good that when I started using them I began to cry what I can only assume to be tears of joy.

So where you get them at that price, and for just 4p a kg difference not everyone could use that amount even a 5kg bag takes a lot of cooking for the average family and that's who this is aimed at

Because it's the nearest shop to my business and when I run short of a couple of things I bought them from there, I've only ever managed to use a couple of onions and tomatoes and bin the rest, daughter tried the fruit and that was even worse, so in answer to your question, no I don't shop in there, I tried it a couple of times and can't stand the place nor the crappy tea/coffee/sweets etc that are destined for other countries and I'm not really into microwave meals or frozen food anyways.... So if I run short of anything I drive by it to go to Tesco or asda and most other things I need are bought from the cash n carry

still don't understand if id had the luck you seem to have had I would have drove past after the first time like I said in the saying above and onions fruit and veg aint microwave, if you don't like jog on the deal is for those who want it as the heat above suggests. But we all have an opinion I just like to help others and be positive rather than negative to much negativity in the world as it is, and 8 deals in 9 years is a great track record.

Yeah, I agree with you, too much negativity is a bad thing, esp in this day and age when people are so small minded and petty "sighs" 8 deals in 9 years is an awful track recorded for anyone to have, I didn't even realise I'd posted that many, but thanks for havin a nosey at my profile, I'll try and post more inbetween my jobs and lifestyle and will keep my opinions to myself in case it upsets anyone... Now jog on hen in case yer microwave dinner gets cold ... Have a nice day xxx

Nope wrong again onions are used for fresh cooking not micro if you bother to read post above you would have noticed that, its always the ones that make the least amount of effort that have the most to say, just carry on and take advantage of others efforts .l.. Jobs and lifestyle lmao@u
